Under the advice of some people on the forum i got the wireless card mentioned, but it's quite slow at 2.5mb/s download and 1mb/s upload.

im running windows 7 x64 and it's quite laggy with the internet, i get 3/5 bar wireless signal. My laptop runs windows 7 beta fine and gets 4/5 to 5/5 signal and runs at 6mb/s and 1.25mb/s, but i want to be able to use my desktop because its much faster, and generally better.

I've tried drivers, installed the windows 7 driver from the edimax site but no joy. Everytime i log in it will flash limited connectivity twice then be ok to connect. It does not drop out.

Any ideas guys?

yea tried ralink ones, :( they're all installers though. Not a specific one where i can do it myself through the device manager, so im not sure if i trust it installing the right one for x64?
 
i have the same problem as you. I had Win 7 beta and the card worked fine, but when i moved to retail it is bad, even for web browsing. I've tried all the drivers, nothing helps.

I've had to move to a wired connection for a few weeks now and every time i try wireless, same thing happens.

I'm stumped...
 
actually let me ask this question:

Who here has this wireless card and Windows 7 64 bit retail copy and it works perfectly? I'd also like to know what router you are using, too.

Windows X64 home premium here and working with no problem at all, using it alongside the DLINK router than virgin provide with their 50MB service. The only slight slowdown I ever get is it Azureus/Vuze tops out at around 4-6Mbps and then the system lags a little.
 
hmm, mines actually working ok now. Touchwood! i also have consistent 4/5 bars which i didnt before. Not sure whats changed :S
