Electricity bill - Previous owner??? Ahh!!!

I think I will though, but i'm not paying the extra charge for it being late when it wasn't addressed to me.

It seems like, Hartwell have emailed NPower to set an account up for us to start on the 14th of May, Come june 25th this is when our actual billing costs start because for some reason the NPower account wasn't set up prior.

because this other SE account has been running, naturally there are electricity costs to cover, however it is still registered in hartwell name so i haven't opened the letter, now they want more money.

Meter readings will need to be clarified, however I am not sure If I have meter readings for the 25th of June, which is when the NPower account started according to the paperwork.

None of this would have happened if hartwell actually checked on things everynow and then...like, you know, make sure accounts are setup before tenants move in?

Rite....A bit more progress now

Spoken to the two companys, apparently trying to sort the situation.

However, I got a 'new' bill from the previous company with a bill of £58...For the time between 14th May to 25th of June....??? Does that sound about right? When I look at the bill, the start unit usage doesn't seem to change and the bill states its from 7th of may till 21st september!

I do have one theory...When I emailed them originally they replied saying okay we've amended your bill and sent you a new one...I then replied confirming mroe things and they said they've sent me a bill....

So they might have sent two seperate bills out?

Still problems...

I have contacted the previous company, giving them 3 / 4 sets of readings now to calculate an accurate reading...And apparently they cannot do it? Because they need to do it via the change of supply method, but because they arent the new company, they cant do that?

But they did it originally? They gave NPower false innaccurate readings!!!? BAH

Its getting on my nerves now, its been 6 months, and we've not had an electricity bill yet

All because our bloddy letting agent didn't check whether or not our account was active!!!

Have you contacted Energywatch or whatever they're called? Have you told the companies involved that you are contacting Energywatch? As I alluded to on the previous page, once we got in touch with them and told the companies we were doing so, things moved a lot quicker.

Its just stupid now

SE are saying they cant give NPower new readings as they aren't the current providers? Yet they could do it last time without checking whether or not the readings were accurate in the first place!

Its just getting really annoying now, especially as me and my partner are having to pay nearly 3 peoples rent between the two of us as the other one has no job atm, its just depressing, especially with this on top of it all!

NPower were no help

They just said 'oh, you'll just have to owe one of us more money in the end anyway, so you may as well just pay the previous company more and us less, or us more and the previous company less! =/

Yes, its true, but its just stupid, its like no one can be bothered anymore
