I had a boss called Tony Handcock :o

But at the job losses: OMG RECESSION, WERE ALL GONNA LIVE IN CAVES.

It's evitable that the company wants to streamline with less and less music sales.

You banning me is comedy excellence

...no, I was referring to the o in Tony being accidentally inputed as an i.

What typo would net you a ban?

It's not about fewer music sales, more the fact that they squandered millions of dollars on overinflated advances.

They put Buiness men in suits that didnt see where the market was going, now they are crying becuse, well becuse they didnt come up with anything new.

Lots of online stores have been successful in taking the market online, so EMI have little in the way of excuses.

Dont put bank managers to run a Music Company.

Anyway, they will be gone, if tehre solution is to change nothing and cut jobs.

Quite happy to see record companies do badly, the music they make sucks and they have hardly adopted to the online world very smoothly. They get what they deserve.

And as for Robbie Williams, he has got worse and worse over the last few years. He should stay on strike forever.

Yes, this seems to be the common conception, that all record labels are evil. It's a common misconception held by people who don't understand how the business works.

Yes, becasue they didn't sell as much as expected

I'm not saying that doesn't play a part, it certainly does, but it's not the main reason for the job cut. Many labels - and bands - spend thousands and thousands of pounds on recording when they could do it a lot cheaper by using different studios and producers. In addition to this, a lot of labels will spend money shuttling their scouts and executives round the world and putting them in extremely expensive hotels when it's not entirely necessary.
