can i simply cancel the direct debit in through my bank account? I have been with voda for exactly 12months now, even got calls bugging me to do an upgrade, but I just want to end my contract. Will doing the above method be fine?

Of course you can. You will have to give a months notice i think but surely if it is cut off at direct debit vodafone cant do much more than try and ring you and send letters to your house

gave them a call, yep written notice needed. Although i still dont get the point why they want it in writing, i mean when i call them they ask me security questions already and confirm that i am the owner.

anyway, to help other people who want to end their contract, send your letter to:

Vodafone Disconnection Department
PO BOX 549
Banbury

They will sell the debt to a collection agency and you get a black mark on your credit record, is it really worth it just to avoid sending a quick email or letter
