Eneloop Batteries

I'll always recommend Eneloop/Hybrio and an Ansmann charger (I prefer the Energy 4 as it's slower but kinder on batteries). As a bonus, I've had reports of excellent customer service from Ansmann if something does go wrong.

The only exception might be very low power devices (e.g. remotes) and devices that demand the full 1.5v from batteries (like my digital scales, for some reason). Anything else is fair game.

HR-3UTGA (AA Batteries)

HR-4UTGA (AAA Batteries)

Those are the 'newer' 1.2v versions of Eneloop, most of the packs available on places are of the older generation, Sanyo's own website doesn't seem to show the newer versions for some reason, they have an A at the end of the model and show a crown on the battery itself in comparison.

All according to www.eneloop.info that is.

Am I right in thinking 1.2v is fine for low power devices like remotes, keyboard/mice etc?

1.5v batteries are for flash cameras?

Ive got some eneloops and they are the only things lasting in the kids toys, well impressed.

I picked up 6 GP Recyko+ AAs from B&M Home bargains for £5 if any of those are local! Cheap.

Ive got a Sony NiMH charger, i think its 400mA. I guess the recommondation of only using Sanyo is the usual story of getting them more product sales rather than a specific reason existing due to the low self discharge chemistry and the seperator changes.

Bear in mind eneloop xx are now out which are 2500mah for AA

Yup but they aren't quite as good in the LSD stakes as normal Eneloops - 75% charge after a year versus 75% after THREE years for the standard Eneloops.

Quite expensive at £13 for 4 as well. They rock in my AA flashlights and RC stuff though so I have 20 of them :-)

Best charger IMHO - BC700 click

and the batteries are really good, still going strong after over 4 years of usage and charging with the above charger.

Sorry for the bump but has anyone ever tried out some Lekishóv batteries? My friend said he picked some up in Finland and swears by them. He used to be an Eneloop fanboy before btw.

Hi guys... Sorry for the bump!

I'm about to buy a pack of 4 rechargeable batteries.

Between Uniross Hybrio 2400 (2300mAh) and Sanyo Eneloop (2000mAh), wich ones would you recomend to use with a digital camera external flash???

I've eared that Eneloop XX discharges faster than the normal Eneloop and only supports up to 500 recharges. The normal Eneloop goes up to 1500 recharges...

Thanks in advance!!!

Have you considered the Lekishóvs? I've been using them since my post in February last year and wouldn't go back to any other battery now.

Just make sure you get a decent Delta V charger that has individual charge circuits, dumb time based chargers significantly reduce cell efficiency and MTBF.
