I am trying to cut down on the amount of gas I use and would like to know if it saves energy if you switch off the valves on radiators you do not necessarily need on.

I have 5 rooms in my house that I would rather not heat up, does it save on your gas if you switch your radiators off or does it not make a difference as the water is being pumped around the house anyway?

I would say yes it will save you money. If a particular radiator is not on, then overall heat loss from the system is reduced, so it should cost you less overall.
