Hoping to propose to my gf at some point over this christmas. I'd really want to get a ring that fits first time without coming out and asking her ring size (you know what girls I'll like, they'll ask 100 questions and probably cotton on to something going on)

How can I find out her ring size secretly?

I'm sure some people on here have had experiences of this
 
I couldn't be bothered trying to get the right ring size then finding out it was wrong and getting moaned at.

I proposed without a ring, then went to pick the right one with her.

She still got the wrong size the silly moo.
 
when she's asleep, measure her finger.

or casually go to a jewellers curious about your own finger size, then casually find out what her right hand ring finger is, chances are it'll be pretty much the same unless she's got one giant hand, look at rings for yourself to really sell it

When I got engaged, we went searching for rings, found one she liked but didn't get it at the time, I went back and bought it and had to have it resized, when we came home from uni I told her it wasn't ready in time, just so I could surprise her :)

would've preferred to have it all a surprise, but ahh well
 
Cut off her finger while she sleeps

Buy her one ring of every size

Bomb her house

Ask the other guy she's seeing

Make a plaster cast of her hand and tell her it's for self pleasure
 
Just some advice:

Ask her, do NOT buy the ring beforehand - take her to pick it herself or you run the very real risk of buying something that she does not really like.

If you must buy beforehand, then speak with a sister or best friend for advice - I still wouldn't do this though. You could just give her a plastic flower ring or something when you ask her as a placeholder :)
 
I covertly picked up my girlfriends ring size many moons ago in a conversation she had with her mother while I was there. The peace of mind that comes with already knowing this information in case I ever need it is superb. What's more she will be baffled as to how I know.

You don’t need a ring to get engaged, do it then take her to a jewellers and let her choose one, that’s what we did. Problem solved.

for times like this, its invaluable information...unfortunately i usually have my bloke head on and block out girly information like this :D

sounds good idea and the common sense thing to do, however wouldnt it be thecase that she might end up choosing a ring she doesnt like 100% but is cheaper? not that there is anything wrong with this :)
 
I bought an ex gf a ring (not engagement or anything) many moons ago and got the size spot on. Twas easy.... bought some blu-tack!

Blu-tack comes packaged as a flat rectangle. Got hold of a couple of her existing rings and pushed them into said blu-tack and went off to the jewellers. They then used their sizing things (whatever they're called) to match it up.

Easy!
