Engine just went pop

I hear honda have never had a VTEC engine come back. You considered one of them

So, the options are:

1) a slight chance of unreliability, or
2) a very high chance of finding no torque even when applying liberal amounts of right foot from sensible revs.

Hmmmm......I think I'll go for option 3) - pushrod V8 :p:D

I suppose this explains why I've seen so many P1's with around 60k miles for sale at Subaru dealerships ;).

Owners getting worried and getting shot of them before they go bang.

See this is why i didn't post before about it being broken, i knew what the engine had done, since i'm and engineering god  (or was it because i was fiddling with will's pipes one night...)

Anyways glad its all alright, if that was me it would have been the first thing i would have checked, the hose thingy with clips on, or something.... :o

:p :p

WTF are you on about? Have you even read the thread?

The car is fine, it was a loose intercooler hose. Yes he really has bought a nice looking P1.

I havent actually, its my dads, I made this excuse so I wouldnt have to admit the sad truth that I dont actually own a car :(

I did wonder why the first pictures that were taken didnt have the backlighting of your portable sun :(

Now we have the answer. I demand pictures of your V5 (can be a txt document with "V5" printed on it in large letters, im sure we will be convinced), taped to your brow, with you sat in a pedal-kart making brum brum noises!

Are we to be graced with the pleasure of Gaz at the RR day or is his dad out that day :p

God Will least shrink the paint canvas size........ Looks spot on otherwise!

Same thing happened to my Fiat. Some garage had changed a water pipe and to get to it must have removed some of the air pipes. The pipe between by turbo and intercooler popped off. Went with a right bang. I pooped myself thinking the whole engine had gone pop.

I fixed it by the side of the road in the rain with some gaffer tape and a coin, burning my hand no end on the down pipe right next to it. :p Just had to take it gentle on the way home till I could get under there properly.

First I was seriously gutted for you mate, then having read the whole thread ,for once, I am now happy for you again! :)

After similar escapades back in my Escort Turbo days, may I suggest some uprated hoses for under the hood?

Pricey, but, well worth it - they tidy up the engine bay imo also.
