England v Australia ODI Series ** spoilers **

When have England ever had such a good Bowling attack! Frightening.

When have England ever been this good at ODI's is the biggest question. The only improvement I can really see is replacing Bopara although not really sure who with, Hales certainly put himself in contention with that 99 in the T20.

Runout, 204-6, 69 required from 49

I thought it was quite a balanced game today and should turn into a pretty decent series even if it should have never been arranged.
No decision went foul for either, bell not reviewing balances husseys somewhat unfortunate dismissal, watson not walking is a bit of a disgrace though, it was blatently obvious he got the nick from the way he followed the ball to the keeper and the expression on his face.

I don't particularly agree with the series but you can see why they did it, the next world cup is in Australia and in return for letting the Aussies gain some experience in English conditions, we get to play some ODI's in Australia to prepare for 2015.

I lost all respect for Watson after that. I could understand if it had been a little nick, but he made quite a bit of contact with the ball and knew it was out, seems Ricky Ponting's influence can still be seen in Australian cricket..

I think the Aussies will take this series, we have a deeper batting line up but their top order can score at a much quicker rate than ours can. I personally think we need a fast scorer in the top 4 to leave less work to be done at the end of the innings because Morgan and Kieswetter aren't always going to score big runs.

Aussies 1 down, 15-1 bowled by Finn, bowled Bell.

Finn has improved so much since being dropped in the Ashes, especially in shorter format games, probably our stand out bowler with Broad in ODI/T20 since the world cup.

Watson gets dropped then hits two consecutive boundaries, would have liked to get him out early as he can hit the ball.

Nick Knight just said the Finn bowls from quite wide in the crease.. Is that why he is regularly hitting the stumps with his knee? Got to love commentators that have no clue what they are talking about.

hahaha, no wonder Nick Knight doesn't seem too popular with certain players

Quite a poor display of fielding from England, Trott dropped one, Morgan dropped two, Bresnan dropped one and far too many runs were leaked.

Cook misjudging one at the start of the innings, diving for the catch, missing it and it going for 4 runs set the tone really. Luckily the Aussies batted fairly poorly so they ended up on a very achievable total.

I don't think there was any luck in it. The England bowling attack is more than good enough to make the batting side look poor and restrict the total.

Just look at the Windies vs New Zealand. They look to be a completely different side now they are facing a much poorer bowling attack.

Interesting that England seem to be taking ODIs back to how it was before the pinch hitters came along - have a top order of proper batsmen, some good finishers and your best bowlers!
