English League Cup round 4 [26-27 October] **Spoilers!**

Arsenal have got really good options now that more people are getting fit. Absolutely great to have Walcott and Bendtner back, think they're both coming on really well.

Edit - Looking at that Bendtner block, it looks suspiciously like Bendtner had cleared the other guys path and he pulled Bendtner back with his arm. Is that just me?

Vila and W Ham are both 2-1 up.

DAMMMMMNNNN

the last 10 mins of football really messed my night out :( ended up losing £30

i put £20 in play that arsenal wouldnt score after 2-0 (did it becuase i bet on over 2.5 goals so was to stop loses) seconds after i place the bet arsenal score.

Then west ham and burnely score (had money on stoke and villa to win)
s
typical :D

Snap. Heskey scoring so late really screwed me over. :(

For the next round :

Arsenal
W Ham
Villa
Man UTD
Ipswich
W Brom
Birmingham
Wigan

Anybody but UTD or Villa tbh.

When is the next round due to be held? If its right after a Champs league game, or a big game for Utd I think the earlier we get it over with the better.

The closer it gets to a chance at the final the more seriously the bigger teams take it.

I'd be happier to see Arsenal play Utd with Macheda and Owen, rather than Berbatov and Hernandez, of course the best possible situation would be if Rooney was back as a lone striker, that would give Arsenal the best chance :p

In all seriousness though, I really get fed up with the "I hope we can avoid X, Y and Z for as long as possible, our fans have that attitude, and the club seems to aswell, though you get a couple guys like Fabregas come out and say "bring it on" and a few deluded guys like Walcott say it aswell.

THe attitude at the club needs to be, doesn't matter who we'll play, we'll win. Arsenal shouldn't fear playing any team, Barca don't run around hoping to never play a good team, Arsenal use to relish the big games aswell.

As for tonight, overall decent, against a weakend bottom half side, good but we didn't really play as the first 10 minutes promised we would.

As per usual, Walcott put through beyond the defence, not at all bad, literally everything he did with the defence still infront of him, crap. Why do we persist with a 4-3-3, with a striker whose completely incapable of playing the wing, wide on the right? Didn't get a single pass, cross, run, anything that resulted in anything from the wing tonight.

I've said for 3 years now, Walcott could have a future as an Owen type striker in a 4-4-2, as a winger, he's a complete waste of a place in the squad. The fairly simple option seems to be, play 4-4-2, play Walcott as a striker, drop Denilson/Diaby as the third entirely worthless central midfielder and play an actual winger.

Our crossing was shocking though, Bendtner was in plenty of space a couple dozen times tonight in the box and rather than a ball put infront of him to stick it in the net, every cross was behind him, so he'd have to stop and back pedal to get close to it.

4-0 massively flattered us, considering how much of a meal we made of it at times, and how many times Newcastle could/should have done better. If you looked at the stats you'd think we dominated the first half, and let Newcastle come back in the second, yet it was more the opposite. First half was very even, possibly even shaded by them, but after our second they seemed to give up.

When is the draw for the quarters? With it only being Premiership teams (and Ipswich) left, it doesn't really matter who we get, mind.

Arsenal v Wigan
Birmingham v Aston Villa
West Ham v Manchester United
Ipswich v West Brom

Forgot about this. Bearing in mind that Arsenal, UTD and Villa will field weaker sides I'd say W Brom are the dead certs to get to the semis.
