English League & European Football [2nd Apr - 8th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

I might also add that people have and will **** themselves silly over the prospect of signing Ribery but Rafael had him in his pocket tonight, and I think that contributed to Ribery's massive overreaction to being tugged.

That, and being a French ****.

But he got tugged. Whether or not Ribery and Bayern reacted poorly, it was a yellow card for Rafael tugging him back when Ribery was away. Yes, Ribery arguably could have been booked for the reaction, but that wouldn't have stopped Ribery going off.

EDIT: Rafael going off, not Ribery

Yeh shame that Rafael didnt keep his cool for both his yellow cards eh??...Utd were cruising it really up until he got sent off. If he hadnt got sent off then im pretty sure it would be Utd going through rather than Bayern.

Anyhow cry all you want about it but fact is that you messed up completely and utterly tonight....whos to blame??...only yourselves but as per usual try and put the blame on others before admitting your own mistakes.

Yeah Ribery looked nothing special in either leg, Neville made him look good (although Neville would make Pennant look good) but up until Ribery resorted to cheating at worst and poor sportsmanship at best, Rafael an inexperienced defender had him in his pocket. Perhaps worth 20m but certainly not the 40m + figures quoted.

In the end Fergie (shockingly) made the wrong choice once we got the card, he chose to sit back and let Bayern have the ball for 30 mins, just a ridiculous decision by a manager who should know better.

Well logically being a man down...its pretty simple that the other team would have most of the possession...im just surprised that it took Bayern awhile to score though...stunning strike by Robben though.

LOL so what could Fergie do??...i thought Utd defended very well until Bayern scored and even with a man down Utd had their chances as Bayern were dire in defence tbh.

ill put my perfect neutral statement in:-

the fact that there are no prem teams in the semi final shows just what has happened to English football this season.........it backwards.

The sale of Ronaldo and Alonso has certainly contributed to what has been a poor standard of quality from the supposed top four this year. The other teams in the league have caught up, and so has the rest of the Europe.

Remind me out of Alonso and Ronaldo, which are still playing in the CL? :p

Cant believe Utd blew their easy CL final ticket after being 3-0 up lol

I expected them to cruise into the final when they avoided the true big teams and they blow it big time.

Inexperienced is the word you should focus on. Rookie mistake cost the game.

Well at least you still have...erm next season :p

not waited until the 81st minute to get a SINGLE striker on the pitch. for the 21 mins before that we just hoofed it straight back to Bayern each time instead of trying to keep the ball at all, that was what lost us the match. It gave Bayern the confidence and time on the ball to get back in the game.

To be fair I was thinking that but I think he played Nani up front for his pace. There's too much for Berba to do on his own.

To be fair the one he did eventually bring on just stood around waiting for the ball to come to feet. You needed a work horse to hassle the defenders and throw his weight around and you didn't have one to bring on.

but he could have tried, it's the fact that he didn't. And he hasn't tried to go for something at any point in the big matches this season (I thought the starting lineup might have changed that) If Berbatov wasn't going to do it then why not try Macheda? Anything has to be better than nothing and what exactly did we have to lose?

****ing gutted.

Did enough at 3-0 to progress, sit back soak up the pressure and hit them on the break, did none of that got punished although I think my Mrs wouldn't have got pushed off the ball as easily as Carrick. That goal killed the game for us, if we had gone in at 3-0 it was done and dusted.

I was an admirer of Bayern Munchen from back in the days of Lothar Matthaus but I lost all respect for them with that Italian card waving bull**** :/

As for going for Rooneys ankle that was just laughable, I truly hope they get spanked by Lyon and all die in the process.

If Rafael can be sent off for what were honestly 2 stupid fouls then how the **** did Van Bommel stay on the pitch after 3 cynical challenges in the first 20 minutes

That Ref was an utter ****ing disgrace, not just for the sending off but the amount of fouls he let go from Bayern yet was quick enough to blow up for them :/

Gutted tbh, we did well enough to win but as has been the case lately we just don't do enough, I would be quite happy of someone took Berbatov out the back and shot him like the lame ****ing Gypsy he is.

What are you on about? The first half should show you we have a number of players up there with Rooney, particularly Valenica and Nani were superb. Rooney was basically a passenger for the whole game and we still went 3-0 with no problems but all teams are going to have one player better than the others.

We are lacking in depth but I hope that will be addressed in the summer.

Didnt Rooney have a hand in all 3? I know he did the first with a lay off....

The mere fact that Fergie played him when he clearly wasnt fit goes to show that they needed him there tonight to help them through.

Once he was gone who did you have up there to aim for in the middle? NO ONE.

Nani and Valencia are alright yeah but the midfield is weak carrick/fletcher dont rate them so much dont see what all the hype about fletcher was/is how ive seen UTD fans say the CL final would have been different with him thats just fans clutching at straws.

O and come on attacking the ankle, it was a bloody tackle get over it, it wasnt even his ankle was half way up his leg it just happened to be on Rooney then you get all this "OMG THOSE EVIL *******" bs.

Cant keep blaming Berb either, how often does he get a solid run of games in? Bring him on towards the end of a game to try and win it doesnt ask of much does it?

My post had nothing to do with whether it was sending off or not, if you would like to read it again properly.

Oh, and as far as the second part of your post goes, don't be a muppet, Spawn. Not blaming anyone else, just pointing out how well one of our players played against a supposedly world class one.

He has probably been MU's best player this season and if he had played in the CL final we would have had someone chasing round after the Barca midfielders, something that on that night was massively lacking.

In short, you don't know WTF you're talking about.
