English League & F.A. Cup Football [10th Apr - 14th Apr 2010] **spoilers**

BBC Gossip saying RvP could face Spurs tomorrow. If he's fit then that would be amazing.

Id be shocked if thats anywhere near the truth...if he is then great we definitely have missed him up front.

But i have a feeling that its just gossip...although if he is fit i hope hes not being rushed back a la Rooney...where he could break down again.

Well no one thought he would be back in time. If he gets a few games then great. If he gets injured at least he can have the summer off to recover :D

Yeah, lets rush another player back in, get him injured, he can miss the world cup and then have another on a long list of reasons to ask for a transfer this summer, fantastic plan.

Gallas has already been treated like crap by Wenger, offered a slap in the face of a contract by all accounts(asked to go from 80k to 60k a week just to get a 2yr contract, the same amount Walcott is on, and frankly 80k for his pedigree is a bit of a joke already), plenty of offers for other places to go, and we rush him back utterly stupidly just so he can quite probably miss the world cup.

Is Wenger purposefully trying to force everyone to ask for a transfer? Wenger promised RVP signings and experience and a real push for the CL and league and other cups, he signed, we got really a single player since then.

He's only been training with the first team for a couple weeks, utterly ridiculous risk to take, especially given our run in, the gap to 4th, the no chance to overhaul Chelsea and the fact that Spurs are rather crap at the moment. Dropping Diaby and Denilson would have a much better overall effect on the team than dropping a in form Bendtner, for an unfit RVP.

Or we could just bitch and moan about a team that we pretend to support and never say anything positive even when they do well

RVP isnt going to ask for a transfer this season. No one is going to come in for him with his injury that has kept him out. And if he does miss the world cup no one will see how good he is.

Sounds like a good thing for Arsenal to me.

Even if we won the league you would moan that we could have won by a larger margin if we played more eboue. Or if we had a team of eboues.

Personally I think you are secretly Eboue! Or his grumpy dad :p

Hahaha :D

If Dindane plays 22 games, so 1 more game, then Pompey have to pay Lens £4 million.

And Pompey are trying to see if they can play in Europe if they win the FA Cup.

BBC.co.uk

If Pompey's appeal fails, that place is expected to go to the seventh-placed team in the Premier League instead

Excellent so Liverpool could still get euro football if we go out of the Europa league.

Edit - think I get this. The Carling Cup's spot gets pushed onto the league wheras the FA Cup spot is pushed onto the league only after it's been pushed onto the losing finalist. Which is different, I don't know why but fair enough.

Didn't he retire a few months ago after the bus shooting incident?

Aye, poor man got so confused by it he wore an Arsenal shirt for an interview straight after.

Which i found absolutely freakin hilarious...goes out of his way to slate Arsenal for how they treated them then goes on air with an Arsenal shirt lol...im sure Man City were not too impressed with that little stunt he pulled lol:p.

Except he's been doing fitness training for months, yet again, you ignore the facts and talk rubbish.

Had it been an entirely isolated incident nothing would have been said about. I mean footballers are dumb, classless creatures anyway but he really just put the icing on the cake there didn't he?:p

Is DM the most ignored poster on here??:p:D...think im going to have to put him on mine now...he does talk some rubbish.

Looks like Wenger has confirmed that RVP is back and ready to play:eek:...awesome that hes back fit again...i just hope he doesnt injure himself if he does play...if i was Wenger i wouldnt start him but rather bring him on later and give him a good 20mins or so to get back into the swing of things.

Fingers crossed that if he does play tommorrow against the Spuds he makes it through the game without any injury:).

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Robin van Persie will return to the squad for Wednesday's crucial Premier League trip to Tottenham.

The Dutchman, 26, hit eight goals in 11 games before damaging ankle ligaments playing for the Netherlands last year.

He is set to start on the bench but Wenger said: "He will feature. He lacks a bit of match practice but when I pick a player it means he's fit and sharp."

Great news - really important to have RvP fit with the injuries we have.

Apparently he has been getting fit for the past few weeks. I wouldnt mind having him as a super sub for the remainder of the season :D

Whats your point, I didn't say anything incorrect, I didn't say he hadn't been doing fitness training, he's been in training since 3-4 weeks after his op, when did I say otherwise?

But theres a difference between flat out match fitness training, and physio/coming back from massive injury and surgery training.

So you're talking rubbish, trying to intimate I said things I didn't.

He HAS only been training with the first team squad for a couple weeks and thats a different and much higher level of training to what he was doing before. IN training they don't generally do full on tackles or go all out at actual match pace/physicality, its NOT the same.

Wenger HIMSELF has said its a gamble to play him this early, but it must be me talking rubbish.

So Wenger thinks its a gamble, every single last one of his gambles on not match fit players, has backfired, for over 5 years. But he's willing to do it again, with 3rd, secure, with 1st out of reach, please explain why he is taking a gamble thats failed to pay off every single time he's gone for it?

Rather than complain about something I DIDN'T say, why not debate, come up with a reason we should risk him.

As I said, if we do risk him, and Wenger says its a risk, and he gets injured and misses the world cup......... just exactly how happy do you think RVP will be about that, considering we had offers last season, and the season before for him but HE CHOSE to stay. 2 years on, all of Wengers promises to get him to sign a contract unforfilled, Arsenal don't look like they are moving forwards, ripped to shreds by the top 2, ripped to shreds in Europe, and on top of that we want to add "ruined his world cup, for no reason"?
