you can get b660 boards with ddr4 or ddr5 msi boards you can choose. the problem is the price of them. 180 quid. lol.

There should 100 quid boards, its in MSI's product lineup

if 12400 does sell for 200 quid its gonna be best value setup to get. i suspect come next month amd will do a price cut on all zen3 cpus. probably 50 quid of each sku

Converted into pounds: the 12400 is 160 pounds and 12400f is 140 pounds. Also available is 12500 at 180 pounds and 12100f at 80 pounds

I don't know why the 12400 series is getting all the hype

the 12500 is where it's at, it's only $10 to $20 more than the 12400 and it has higher clock speed and much faster GPU and it has an encoder and all of that with the same 65w TDP

Yes i saw that the 12500 is only 10 quid more than the 12400, didnt know the gpu was faster thought it was just the clocks

Explain then why my 1700 cpu at 115w ppt peaked at 69c on a freezer 34 and using same cooler on my 5600x at 95w ppt temps peak at 83c with faster fan profile too?
95w is lower then 115w so in theory 95w should run cooler temps but as proven with zen3 many times its not the case. In my example 14nm running 115w is far easier to cool than 7nm at 95w.

Don't worry he doesn't know what he's talking about and just thinking he's smart because big number is bigger than small numbers

12100f is 90 to 95% of 9900k gaming performance and beats the 3900x


Which goes to show that cores aren't really important for games, if your IPC is high enough then you only need 4 cores - heck, if Intel gave this thing 5ghz+ clocks and more L3 cache it would probably match much more expensive CPUs in games
