That's how they can come when you buy them B grade. ah well its not the end of the world if i have to blue peter one out of cardboard and buy a pci 1394 card just an inconvenience I wasnt expecting ..serves me right for being cheap 
lolI had that problem when i brought a b-grade abit board from another site, abit sent me a backplate though fortunately.
Until i managed to receive the back plate i used the side of a cereal box, looked quite cool with Tony The Tiger on. Not the most ideal, took a little time to carefully cut all the holes, but it did work all the same.
