Eq question, / funny story

Does any one have any advice on what/why i'd want to adjust each frequancy?

also i saw someone buying speaker cable today, I almost lol'd! They spent £150 on it!

You'd typically use an EQ as a simple way to remove the influence the listening room has on the sound. For instance, if you had a resonance at 70Hz (as I do), you would lower the 70Hz slider on the EQ to balance it out. You can achieve a flat response this way without drastically altering the room (although changing the room is the best option, it isn't often feesable).
