er...Lol (Apple are considering moving away from Intel to AMD)

They over charge for thier products and now they're considering making it cheaper.

Have to say this is a big misconception, their kit is well priced. Take the MacBook Air, to get a laptop of that spec, form factor and build quality, you'll pay £more for a Windows equivalent, same for MBP, same for iPad. The iMacs, fair enough, I could spec better for cheaper.

But in the main these days, that statement is just not true. I'm not a fanboy, I use both and certainly mobile wise, I use a MBP because its the best kit I can get at that price.

Ehm, the only special thing is the retina screen on mbp, have you seen the price? It's ridiculous! 5400 rpm hd, geforce gt 650m which is even weaker on retina... Yeah you can get ssd upgrade, the cost of that:P for me the mbp is overpriced :)

Every Apple product bar the iTouch is overpriced. There are so many cheaper better systems out there especially androids and tablets.

There are not though, what tablet is better and cheaper than the iPad??? Any tablets that offer anywhere near the specs are more expensive than the iPad which is why Android never worked out in the tablet market. If your statements was true then Android would surely have some sizeable % of tablet market share?

I stand by my opinion, Apple used to offer rubbish specced hardware for big prices, but that hasn't been true for some years now.

They don't offer rubbish spec for a high price, they offer a high price for the spec and considering it's just rebranded pc hardware you've got to be stupid to pay for their over priced products.

I agree its high quality but like Mr-White says its just rebranded stuff. Its like the high end Corsair PSU's are Seasonic but they dont charge a few hundred per cable...

And the iTouch is like the iphone but without the phone thing. Its costs £150 I think and i find it good for the price. My sis has an iphone and i can happily say its the biggest pile of *** for the money.

Their laptops are priced high but on the whole their quality is much stronger than their competition who last time I bothered to check seem to charge more for the equivalent.

It makes sense to have Trinity in laptops, as it is still a powerful processor and having increased iGPU power is good for things like the MacBook Air and Mac Mini. Just because they aren't as powerful/as good bang for buck for desktops, for MacBook Air-like settings, it makes perfect sense to have a better balance.

I've heard of an iPod Touch before, but never an iTouch. Is it a new Apple product? ;)

You knew what he meant no need to be an ass.

I wouldn't say that Apple has the best build quality they certainly aren't the worst but a lot of there iphone 5's are coming out of foxconn with scratches covering the screen.

It was a pretty poor decision by whichever mod chose to move this thread from apple hardware to CPU's as it was just inviting this sort of post.

So exactly how many AIW computers can you name that match the iMac for spec and price? (hint: the aren't any).

I had a 27" iMac at the start of the year and when I decided to go back to Windows (due to OSX being bad, not the hardware) I was quite surprised that no other AIW units came close and an equal spec'd desktop system came in at less than £200 cheaper (<£200 being an easy to swallow premium for AIW imo).

*EDIT*

In fact as I was bored, the i5 2400 iMac is £1,649.00 delivered, here is a equivalent Windows based desktop (which will require assembly):

The reason it uses a decent case and keyboard instead of the usual unbranded rubbish Apple haters pick when doing these comparisons is because the iMac keyboard is by far one of the best on the market, and because the casing on the iMac is, well, self explanatory. £100 difference between the iMac and the parts to build an equivalent system is hardly the price gouging people always accuse Apple off, especially when you consider how much somebody would want to assemble/configure it, and that the Apple has warranty on the full system. But it should be noted that I had to use a HD6870 as I couldn't find a HD6850 which the HD6970m is equal too so the gap will be a tad bigger.

And how much do you think it costs for Apple to make their cases, keyboard etc. Its quite low. Plus thats your interpretation of a spec but I for the one see no reason for quite abit of the stuff on there.
