Esxi installation woes

Pass through works with the free license - I'm using it right now to pass some USB ports and a serial port to a Windows 7 VM.

It is dependent on the CPU in the box though, it needs to support, I think, VT-d. The Celeron that was originally in my Microserver didn't but the Xeon in there now does.

Would that work when using the onboard graphics as I currently am or does it have to be two separate discrete cards?

There needs to be at least one discrete card as ESXi itself needs a video card. Under what conditions you can select which card is which I don't know, I haven't used video pass through myself.

My CPU is a G3258 and according to the Intel site it supports VT-x but not VT-d
