I'm planning to take my brother to Disneyland paris for his birthday, which is in late december. I have heard that the new years celebration is very good - but I dont know anyone who has actually been. I've looked on the website about booking but nothing seems very clear for that time of year. Firstly has anyone been before and was it any good? And secondly does anyone know of any good deals that include entrance on new years eve? (or just prices in general!!!)
Please please help me!!!

Thanks
Lou

Eeek!! Its sooo expensive, thanks for the google wording.. worked better than when I tried it! I'd still like to know if anyone has been - don't want to spend all of my money if it's not worth it!

Thanks again
Lou :p

I just recently got back from Disney with the mrs and we had a wonderful time. Haven't been on the new year celebration, but i'm sure the parades and fireworks will be even better than what they are on a normal day.

As for prices yes it is very very expensive and probably much more at that time of year.

We stayed in the Hotel New York for 3 nights and had park tickets for 4 days and the total cost for the two of us with travel and insurance was £1080.

On top of that is the food and drink, I can't even tell you how much they rip you off. Most of our meals cost around 60-100 euros and the beer prices were anything from 6-9 euros.

I've been twice at New Year. Something very magical about it that time of year and they do put on a great show to celebrate... be warned though it can be really cold there at that time of year.

Very dissapointing! disney @ new year = lots of darkness and trying to read maps under scarse 'street' lamps, far too many people crammed in there, 45 minutes queues for bottles of water and expensive food.

There is so much more to do around paris. The GF and i went for 3 nights last new years and honestly euro disney was the only let down. We had a better time having dinner on new years day in a small restaurant with a group of friends from the hotel.

Ignoring any special menus for Christmas day etc (£55 for christmas day lunch etc)

Food on a normal day in the park is not that expensive and the full service restraunts are good value.

I would personaly prefer to be there for Christmas Day itself.

I went there with my ex-gf to welcome in 2006. Was quite cool with all the rides being open so late, so can go on rollercoasters in the pitchblack etc! :)

We got it through lastminute, was £500 for the 2 of us for eurotunnel out there and back, 2/3 nights in a 4 star hotel (had a choice of 2). Didn't actually pay for park entry or anything, but that was the deal they were doing, were quite a few people on it!

I thought it was good, if a little crowded, but there was a really good party atmosphere. On the downside, glasses of champagne were a ridiculous amount of Euro's each, and it wasn't the warmest but it was a good evening. Might have been better had me and my gf not split up a month before we went, but we went anyway... i'm sure you can guess the eventualities when we got back from Eurodisney :o ;)

The gf and i paid £99 each :D 3 star hotel (or was it 2?) but who cares about that? we spent all our time sight seeing in paris, not staying in our room

we recently came back, about 2 weeks ago now. We had a fantastic time and managed to get a late deal and stay at the Explorers Hotel / EuroStar for £259. On top was food/drink/items/park tickets. In the end we ended up spending about £650-£700, only because we ent in off peak season just before the shcools broke up. We do travel to Orlando and we think "It's Disney Without The Magic", only because we visited Orlando first :p

Good trip though!

Stay in Disneyland Hotel or Hotel New York and you get front of the line access to all the rides that offer it (Well, seperate q whats real short).

Not 100% true, untill November each guest of these hotels will be given 3 fast passes each to use on any attraction during certain hours.

However from November the New York hotel is removed from this option and its just the Disneyland.

There is also an even better unlimited fast pass (VIP Fastpass) which is given to you if you stay in a suite in any hotel or Disneyland Hotel castle club rooms.

Thanks everyone.. well my brothers birthday is on the 28th so we might just go for the time inbetween christmas and new year!!
If its going to be very crowded then it probably wont be as enjoyable as just the normal shows they put on..
I shall investigate further!!

Thanks again
Lou :D

We went to the Explorers Hotel (we came back a month ago today) and I thought it was adequate for us atleast. That said I was very disappointed in the food and not as family friendly as what I expected it would be. (They didn't even sell nappies for my baby sister! ). That said, the air conditioning was very effective!
