His content is crap too. The EU has a vested interest in Ireland/Portugal/Spain, but just because of the Euro but because of the very integrated economies. Even if the Euro wasn't a factor, we'd be doing pretty much the same.
why is someone who is reportedly from the other side of the planet so interested in who runs 'this' country? If you don't live here you surely have no right in deciding 'this' countries parliament or policies?

The Eurozone isn't particularly bothered about Ireland themselves, just that the contagion doesn't spread. It was one of the requirements of the EU bailout that they increase their corporation taxes, which will reduce Irelands competitiveness and hamper their recovery.

That's fair enough. I don't share your opinion but those are both good reasons for taking things on board.
you no longer live here, whilst you can voice an opinion it is irrelevant to those that actually have to live here.
The Euro was doomed from inception you cannot have multiple economies and one interest rate the original trade AGREEMENT was a good idea what we have now wasn't what we were sold. The euro currency is on it last legs and at some point in the future the federal state they want will disappear amongst a rise in nationalistic public opinion across Europe and if we aren't careful this will be the catalyst to another european theater of war.
There still lingers mistrust and resentment between european communities and and along ethnic communities right across europe.

What an idiotic thing to say. I lived abroad for 5 years and if anything it gave me a better perspective on the UK and I ended up moving back. Just because you're too lazy/stupid to have ever done anything like that in your life doesn't mean others who have don't have an opinion on their home country.
why would I want to live anywhere other than here? Name calling makes you look silly you do know that hey? Perhaps its a trait you picked up on your marvelous travels to those less educated and savage countries?
