Euro Millions next week!!!

Question - A 89 year old woman wins the euro million jackpot and has no family. She comes round to your house to tell you , she has not told anyone other then you she has won. What would you do?

"Have you told anyone yet dear? Lets have a look at the ticket then... Oh I think you're mistaken, you've only got 4 numbers - see you've confused a 2 with a 7 there and that's a 6 not a 9 .... never mind, you go have a cup of tea and I'll pop to the shops and get your £94 prize for you"

/pockets winning ticket and runs to cash machine

:D

There was case, and then a jail sentence a few months ago where somebody cashed in a winning ticket. Unfortunately the guy who lost it registered it (and gave the time/location I presume) of where he bought it.

It went to court and he won!

Is this true?
A woman has said that she purchased the winning ticket for the October 8 £113m Euromillions jackpot but claimed that her husband threw it in the bin by mistake.

The pensioner told the Coventry Telegraph that she had jotted the numbers down in a notebook before passing on the ticket to her husband.

The unnamed woman said: "I play every week - I play the lottery, the Euromillions and the Thunderball - but my husband takes the ticket off me and I don't see it again. That's why I always write my numbers down.

"I went down to the newsagent and showed him my pad. He said, 'My God! You're a winner!', but I said, 'I'm not a winner - the ticket has been binned'.

"I was so angry at first, but there's no point in being angry about it. I couldn't be angry with him now. My whole life is taken up with him.”

According to SWNS, Camelot spokesman Simon Horne said: "There's an ability for us to investigate lost and stolen tickets under our procedures.

"A person who loses their ticket has 30 days to make a claim from the time of the draw. The security team then launches an investigation to establish it is a valid claim at our discretion.

"After 180 days from the time of the draw the decision will be made whether the claim is valid or not."

He did not comment on whether the company had received a claim from the Coventry couple, who are in their 70s and have been together for over 50 years. The winning numbers were 9, 30, 35, 39, 46 and lucky star numbers 6 and 8.

Surely the procedure goes:

Shop manager checks CCTV to see when she bought the ticket.
Shop manager "loses" CCTV tape.
Shop managers friend opens a dispute with Camelot claiming they bought the winning ticket from the shop/time told to them by the manager.
???
Profit

I'm sure in a case like the above they could trace the ticket back to where/when it was bought. If the lady's date and time are right..

The winner beat odds of more than 76 million to one to pick the winning numbers which were nine, 30, 35, 39, 46, with lucky stars six and eight.

Number, spelled number, number, number, number, number, spelled number and spelled number. I'm sure I was taught years ago to stick to one or the other. :p

I think they are going on anything more than three figures (100+, though I'm sure it's more than this), and less than two numbers is written down (zero - nine), and others (10-99*) is like they have done.

That's what I was taught, I think.
