Lampard was appalling in the 1st half, better in the 2nd but not anywhere near as good as Gerrard.Downing and Neville were rubbish as well.
Cole,Ferdinand,Terry and Hargreaves had good games

Job done

Gerrard was just as bad if not worse than Lampard tonight, I'd love to see his pass completion tonight as he gave the ball away far too many times, I agree that Lampard has been nowhere near his best for quite a while now. But he doesn't deserve the amount of stick he gets.

Downing was easily the worst player on the pitch tonight and Defoe wasn't far behind.

****ing right. Healy hattrick. A fantastic performance after the ***** we played on Saturday.

Steve Davis was absolutely mighty again and Johnny Evans was immense - no fannying around, played really well out of position at LB as well.

Clingan was culpable in the second Spanish goal but I don't care because we just beat Spain 3-2 after coming back twice :D

And don't forget... we're not Brazil, we're Northern Ireland, but it's all the same to me.

Walcott got one in the U21 game apparently.

What a result for Norn Iron! And Scotland! And a victory for England too! Good night all round :)

I think it's being a bit generous to call that an assist :p

It was his perseverance that led to the goal, and it was his cross/shot which crouch turned in. He has already made deflected goals his own, looks like he is working on crosses now. :p

Just watching Sky and it looks like Merson is back on the drugs, he is arguing the point for dropping Crouch :D

I call for Donadoni's head! I never had faith in him and what the Italian FA were thinking i will never know. The man cant play his tactics right. Why an earth did he leave Inzaghi out when he knew the Cassano and Gila just wasn’t working. It was too late when he did come on as he was played out of position in the end. Italy really will be struggling now, they can’t afford to lose anymore especially with the Scots on form.

First goal was blatant offside, surprised there weren’t many calls for it. Gila should have gotten a penalty too, but at the end of the day they didn’t deserve to win, France played outstanding, Henry was on top form. Govou really impressed as did Ribery.

Crouch is completely average, but as long as hes scoring i don't care. I just can't wait to get rooney and owen back.

Agreed. I'd like to see crouch do something against good teams, not the appalling teams we've played lately. Andorra, Jamaica, Trinidad, Macedonia (admittedly a bit better than the rest, but still a world away from our level). Not exactly spectacular sides.

You know what annoyed me about the game the most? The commentator.
He was rubbish!
Aparentely Gila was top scorer in SeriaA last year and has been playing for Milan for several seasons! Where does this man get his information! :p

Great performance from Scotland again. We almost went to bits when they scored (spectacular goal) but I guess that's just what we do. Superb finish from Kenny, I wont be surprised to see him benched for the Aberdeen game though, he really ****ed himself up last night, looked knackered.

No way, that's an arrogant point of view. A nation's a nation, and deserves to play with the rest.

So you think the smaller nations like getting beat 5-0, 6-0, 13-0 everytime their drawn against half decent opposition?

At least if they were grouped together they might win some games and find it more beneficial.

I'd say yes they do like playing the bigger/better teams.

If you were a part time footballer would you want to play against players you've never heard of or play against players you idolise?

Also from a country point of view, I'm sure they get more excited with the prospect of playing a top team rather than a team that struggle like they do.

glad these games are over, tournament qualifiers can be really dull at times. Back to the real deal this weekend ;)

2p - thoght it was a difficult match for England last night, very physical team, and the ref seemed to blow up for everything.
In contrast to the previous match I thought Gerrard was poor - he also seemed to wander a lot from the right midfield position - is his role free roaming?
I'm confused by Lampard - McLaren seems very happy, talks about his pass completion etc, and last night he seemed to be acting very much as a go-between - picking the ball up and moving it on very quickly, as opposed to driving at the defence - is this the role he is being asked to fulfill? Could be the reason he is not getting inyto attacking positions as much.
Thought Defoe loked a little light weight - was knocked off the ball too easily.
Defence looked solid apart from one or two incidents - JT very solid, Ferdinand looked about the same.
Ho hum - onwards an upwards.

Think it's just a case of defending him in public, McLaren can hardly come out and say "yes I agree, he has stunk for months"
