Hey,

I've had the urge to do a bit of a tour of a few places in Europe, and I was wondering if anyone has done something similar before?

Im thinking of...

Ferry from England to Amsterdam - 3 nights here in a hostel...
Train from Amsterdam to Berlin? - 3 nights here in a hostel...
Train from Berlin to Prague? 3 nights here in a hostel...
Flight from Prague to Bristol

Shouldn't cost any more than £500?

Anyone done this before or got any tips?

I'd rather go on a train/ferry/coach..

been to Amsterdam and Prague several times but not my the method you are planning sounds fun though ( well except staying in hostels ) :)

I'll have just finished my degree - it's gnna be a student trip with a few mates! Hostels are the only way we'd ever be able to consider it! :( Should be fun though, just me, a rucksack of clothes and cash, and a few train tickets. The long journeys should be balanced out with the fact I'll be with mates.

i found the hostels to be pretty good. they are all full of people with the same idea, we had an awesome laugh when we drove around europe in november.

when are you planning on going?

Hostels are the best way if you want to meet people and have a few (many) drinks at night.

Get yourself a Lonely Planet Europe on a Shoestring and your sorted.

last year i did a 10 day trip with two mates, we had 3 flights a ferry a train and two busses, cost £170 each (we did sleep rough the first 4 nights)

london->sweden>finland>estonia>london

obviously the london part wasn't included in the 10 days

just book in advance, and look around for prices first, should be cheap as ####

Well it's a long way off :p Next summer. This summer my mates are on placements and I'm saving for a one way ticket to New Zealand for Dec 2009. :D
