I'm just wondering, how graphics intensive is Eve Online?

My Desktop PC is fine, but I only have access to it for a limited time. My laptop though isn't the greatest:

Pentium M 1.8Ghz
512Mb RAM
Geforce GO FX5200

I can probably upgrade to 1Gb RAM pretty soon. But will this work ok? I guess I can download the trial and try! :D

Yeah should be, I've played Eve on some pretty ancient and rubbish laptops :)

Download and try the demo if your not sure, there's usually a referal scheme where someone on here can refer you so you get a link to the download if there isn't one available on the main page (I can't check as I'm at work)

Can I just download it from the Eve Online front page?

Its not really graphics intensive its more CPU intensive then anything.

Charisma is the least useful stat. Other than that, as long as nothing else is really low you'll be fine.

As for race and skills etc, they really just define what you'll be good at first. Most long term characters end up training up for 2 or 3 different races ships.

You want your attributes to be pretty balanced even Charisma shouldn’t be super low. If you have any very low attributes its worth restarting ASAP. You might even awnt high Charisma if you want to be a leadership/Command ship pilot among other things.

You can make a new character by just picking an empty portrait from the logon screen and continuing.

The stats you have created are not optimal for a combat ship flying character though, I wouldnt get attached to the character as if you choose to play this game on the long term, you'll be better off with a character name, portrait and attributes that you wont regret years down the line.

I went for:

Intelligence - 8 points
Perception - 5 points
Charisma - 7 points
Willpower - 11 points
Memory - 8 points

How do I restart if I have to?
you just kill the char off (TERMINATE) from the login screen, you get 3 slots for chars but can only activly train on one at a time
you're going to HATE having a low perception, I'd get that back up if I was you.
you want most of them as even as pos with the exception of Charisma (unless you're going leadership heavy, but even then its the suck).
