Event Horizon ending

This film always freaked me out, the Captains footage, when they retrieve it was a pretty messed up thing.

Although it confused me a little, I assume when the shipped "jumped" it was jumping in hell?, then technically the ship was "possessed?"

I read a long review from the producer that they also played that it could have gone to a parallel universe that was made of complete chaos.

Also in the end, I always assumed they where dragged back to where ever the ship had been too, IE, not a good ending.

I always think they're safe but mentally ***** just like ripley at the start of aliens 2.

But with good films liek this, you can take the ending wither way, probably isnt even a correct interpratation, specifically filmed like that to give the options and discusions.

I dunno man, I think it's a bit more clear cut than Total Recall for example. Sure, there's slight question mark there though.

In Recall, it starts with him having dreams about Mars and Melina before he goes to Rekall so it has to real, right?
When he goes to Rekall, the alien stuff and Melina is specified by the options he chooses before he goes under, so it has to be a dream, right?

In this case, yeah, it's whatever you want it to be :)

With Event Horizon, I think they're screwed because the ship - all of it, not just the part that got blown up - is possessed by whatever the hell it brought back from the 'chaos dimension' and like I said, Joely Richardson's character never saw Wier looking like that, only Miller did, so something must have come back with them.

Maybe it's being a little anal about it and perhaps the director didn't intend that. Who knows? Still, it makes sense to me at least :D

I still remember going to see this at the cinema when it first came out, mostly because going in I had no idea it was a horror, was just invited along by a mate and thought it was just another sci-fi. Feelings of wtf slowly built up till it clicked :p
