The only place you can get any useful advice on this forum is in the hardware sections sadly.
Seems more the only place you cant get good advice is this section.

Go and consult a professional. You can still "design it yourself", telling them all the key elements you want, and then getting them to arrange it all around your shoulder.
It's something that's gonna be with you forever...so don't do it half-arsed. You might have to go to the shop a couple of times before they start tattooing, to make sure you're happy with the design and give them time to make any changes after their first attempt at a design.
Ask the professional about stretching. I'm sure most designs will be fine, just avoid writing and faces.

You need a 3d scanner + printer. Scan your arm, print your arm. Go nuts with crayons until you get a design you want.
Then load your arm into maya, expand it by 3 inches, and see what happens to the design.

that is such horse ****. GD is brilliant at picking holes in stuff and making gags but equally there is a lot of good advice, kindness, useful insight etc. knocking about. It helps not to have a rod up your **** to benefit from it.
Clearly you can't spell, maybe there's a link between the two?

Do you hate clothes, cars, houses, films and pretty much everything else because they aren't original and in a lot of cases can be taky?
Tats in this country seems like a right of passage. Almost as much as loans or credit cards. Every 2nd guy in the gym has a tribal tat around his bicep.
But to answer your question pal. Have it designed. If you're gonna mark yourself for life, at least make it a good and original one.

Deviant art has some good stuff on it, all 3 of my tattoos have come from there and infact my next session has two pieces that come from that site... At least you know it's going to be original to some degree even if the coloring is done by someone it's their perception... Also it may give inspiration.
You obviously can't see what sets a tattoo and most of what you've said above apart...

Get a UV Tattoo like this, when you show it off people will be more impressed, rather than a standard tattoo IMO
