EVGA 460 *** where are they?

Swings and roundabouts with this decision, I believe 2 x 460's beat 1 x 480 in most games that use SLI, but the power draw is a bit more! Pricewise it's roughly £20-£30 cheaper to buy a 480 than a pair of 460's but your performance is a lot better due to SLI.

In the end I just looked at some cards recommended here and chose the Asus 1GB TOP model so now I can get on with my gaming instead of worrying about availability dates or when new cards are getting released or waiting for price drops etc!

Well I got my cards installed but only after a bit of re-organising stuff in my case! PSU moved from bottom of case to the top as the 2nd cards airflow is obstructed by the PSU, removed sound card from PCI slot between both cards as this restricted airflow into the 1st card, using onboard sound on my Asus P6T Deluxe V2 which isn't bad at all. Also, have a 23cm side fan blowing onto the cards so that should help as well.

Installed lastest BETA drivers, 260.63 and ran Furmark Multi GPU for 15 minutes, settings of stability test, 1920 x 1200, fullscreen, PostFX and Displacement mapping on and noted temps of 82°C for 1st card and 73°C for 2nd card under load so might need to spot cool the cards just to reduce heat a little. Idle temps are about 33°C @ 20% Fan Speed once they have cooled down.

Ran one DX11 game, Battlefield Bad Company 2 with all detail maxed and game played nice and smooth, didn't feel laggy at all which I think I got with my GTX260's in SLI. Not played with overclocking yet as I need to see what these cards will do out of the box first and decide if it's worth overclocking!

First impressions are very postitive :)

So if i have this right loads of people have slammed the opening poster for asking about the EVGA card with responses like why pay more for nothing etc, when nobody actually knows the price of these cards.
that really sums up this forum of late.

Yeah, this is all I ever see on the internet nowadays, getting pretty broing tbh

But yeah, I've always wondered the same Question, but for the same price as its most likely to be, a 470 would be a better option :p
