Don't think ill be buying it, i probably wont go SLI again. Abit expensive for a mobo, but thats probably becuase its DDR3.

I bought the XFX one last week....still waiting for it to arrive.

So as these are reference mobo's, does anyone know if you can flash an EVGA bios onto an XFX, seeing as EVGA seem to be a bit more proactive in fixiing issues and already have a bios out ?

Main problem with this mobo so far as I can see is it won't boot with 4 ddr3 1800mhz or higher sticks unless you flash the latest bios. Then again, Nvidia have said as much as it's only supposed to boot with 2 slots populated over 1801mhz.

Oh..there is also no way to monitor the NB temp in the bios after latest update.

Other then that, early reports are it runs pretty stable and easy to overclock with. Have not heard of any turkeys yet.

I take it the only reason you would buy this is for overclocking? I ask because my £80 ish motherboard can support DDR3 as well.

It aint a JOKE, You obv dont visit XS, they have different branded 790I Ultra's hitting 2500+FSB (625+)

Have done for weeks before NDA lifted.

BTW, some guy over on XS just returned his EVGA after 2 hours use due to mad hot NB and fan like a hoover, he is awaiting the Asus now.

thats seems to be a common EVGA problem - hot NB and very noisy chipset cooler

but thats the price you pay for performance

A few people used an antec spot cool instead of the stock fan on the 780, better and quieter apparently, it should work ok on the 790 as well....Get some pics up chaps!

i thought they were all noobs over @ XS?
