or are you still "in warehouse queue" ?

Just in case some stock came in, but not enough and those left "waiting" are for a 2nd batch - doubtful as I'd expect it to not say overdue on the site, but you never know.

Hi there

We can't please everyone.

Also OcUK are generally the quickest at getting stuff out except this week we've been so swamped due to such a huge increase in business we've fallen a little behind with some of orders, but will be back on track for tomorrow due too staff putting in extra hours today.

Fact is with the 8800 GT NVIDIA brough this launch forward by three weeks but by doing that stock is incredibly short, a small amount of stock has been spread around and unfortunately everywhere is running out. Basically NVIDIA wanted to do a hard launch to look good. The real truth is they have done a hard launch with hardly no product availability and as such many places run out all most immediately.

Thanks Gibbo for the update - I was only trying to find out whats going on.

I appreciate that you're at the sharp end of others decisions/promises and dont want to disappoint - but I put a webnote in and tried to ring but got no answer to the first and gave up after 3 mins of ring-ring on the 2nd - information in such cases is key. Hope to see responses/activity/results tomorrow.

M.

Sent an e-mail cancelling the order - I picked up a Zotac nFire GeForce 8800GT from my local e-tailer's warehouse - which has faster 660MHz cpu and 1600MHz shader clocks but slightly slower memory (which is the least important of the three). Saved £36 too - for the sake of a shorter warranty!

(there will now be a short interval whilst I install it :D)

Seems very fast - it got me the final 0.1 to get the perfect Windows Vista Experience Index of 5.9 (since the ATI X1900XT was the bottom score of 5.8 previously)

Did a quick 3DMark06 run and got 13011 (my X1900XT scored 7037) too:- http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=3584869 (which seems to be the 5th highest score and less than 100 behind 4th). These are at its stock 660/1600/1800 clocks.

Using the beta 169.04 vista-x64 drivers on vista ultimate.

Well chuffed.

Now for 1920x1080 crysis...

Zotac nFire 8800GT 660/1600/1800 (which is stock as its factory o/c), Q6600 @ 3.2GHz, Windows Vista Ultimate X64, Detonator 169.04 x64

Crysis numbers with everything on medium - but I don't know whether it was DX9 or DX10 mode at present.
