*****EVGA GTX 580 SuperClocks are in the building (IN STOCK)*****

I don't understand people really, these guys are running a business, if they are selling them for this money well good for them, just buy them for somewhere else.

Everyone, including me would like them to be cheaper but the fact is, they are not.

Agree i used by loads from here in 2009. Due to competors being cheaper for the goods i wanted i dont think i have shopped here in 2010 but i dont go on every week about it. (monthly maybe :p)
Had high hopes for Payday deals but meh is all.

On topic the 580 will prob be the same price for a while to come, add on the VAT to next year and the time of year i assume supply to go far over demand

and you wonder why they do it lol , cause here most will buy at any price from ocuk ;)

Hold on a sec, stock GTX580 is 772 core and 4008MHz RAM. EVGA SuperClocked is 797 core and 4050MHz Ram. WOW! That is one massive "superclock". Gees, what a bunch of marketing chimps.

Hi First,
How on earth do you expect them to know the price of local shop

He was talking about the 3 main sites we all look at as well as Ocuk

I think my local guy is one of your top 3 if not the top one.

second I pointed out that the quote was Quote I've matched the other competitors price was not right.

Guys,

I went through a phase of not buying more things from OCUK as competitors are cheaper on a reasonably frequent basis..... One which sounds like can in particular....

HOWEVER

Said retailer who you can try and guess who Im talking about is fine when they are taking your money but when you have an issue and needed help they fell down badly... So badly that I will never purchase from them again. Personally as long as OCUK are not toooo much higher than the competition, I think they are worth a premium. On balance their service is simply in a different class... I have learnt the hard way.

That doesnt mean they can charge what they like though!!! ;)

I agree with this, every RMA or DSR ive had with Overclockers, ive never once had a single problem with.

Also Web notes and the CS forum, questions are always answered extremely quickly

This is why i dont mind spending the extra £ on some things, because of the superb service OCUK have with there customers.

Saying that a lot of there products are usually always cheaper anyway, especially with the free delivery.

I had a bad customer experience when returning some RAM to ocuk, memtest failed, pc crashing on a new build so called their support and agreed to send the RAM back for repair despite only getting it a couple days before so could have dsr'd it but trusted them to send out a replacement. Apparently the ram worked when they tested so sent it back to me as no fault found and when I retested it magically worked, great you might think but they stung me for 30 pounds as a fee when I knew the ram didn't work and their support guys agreed, especially suspicious as the ram I sent away failed memtest but the stuff I received back passed exactly the same tests. Anyhow, I didn't use them for ages after that but slowly coming back.

And captain complaint steps in to complain.

There is hardly any 580s in the UK. If we sold them for normal pricing they would go instanly and our competition would sell theres for a far higher price.

You clearly do not understand the logisitics of business and what the the term "supoply and demand" mean.

If the demand outweighs the supply, higher prices. Simple. You can go on forever moaning but simply put it you cannot get one anywhere else.

Ok, waited a bit to see a few more posts before commenting further. NathWraith, no need for name calling, just my opinion, take a balanced view please I do complement Ocuk from time to time when you deserve it. But i reserve my right to comment on pricing if I feel its justified. Going by the replies so far opinion is divided, not surprising really, certainly what i expected but I wont except being called Captain Complaint by you! I dont buy exclusively from Ocuk and always shop around for best prices. This card in particular seems well overpriced, in my opinion, and I cant except that stating so makes you a 'whinger'. However i defend all of you have a right to your opinion and the day that stops being the case on this forum is the day i go elsewhere. Complaining about pricing, yes, whinging no, 'Captain complaint' , uncalled for.:)
