I have made a post on my planned PC build before but wanted to ask a different question.

I have seen both of these cards and I do not know which one to go for and I'd like to hear some opinions.

Dual Superclocked ACX GeForce GTX 770 has a core clock of 1.11Ghz and price around £307?

Superclocked ACX GeForce GTX 780 has a core clock of 967Mhz and price of £383.99

Also please note, if you have any other graphics card that would definitely compete with these but at lower prices or better performance around the same price norm, please add them below they will be greatly apreciated

For over £300 the 770 is comically expensive (just to be clear I am talking about a single one at this price). That is slap bang on R9 290 money.

If you are looking at 770's I would only consider one up to £250 at the absolute max.

GTX 780 is decent enough but again a tad on the expensive side (although not comically so like the 770).

Generally speaking in the £300-400 area I would consider a GTX 780 or R9 290 with a decent cooler and from a reputable brand. Good things are said about Gigabyte (and EVGA obviously) on both sides from what I have read.

If you are looking at these sort of cards I wouldn't even consider a GTX 770.

Why exactly do you say I shouldnt go for the 770? it has good core clocks and good memory, and good cooling when looking at the EVGA

also as for the R290 I want to stay away from Radeon (very bad history with them), yes it is definetely a personal preference and I am sure they are great cards, just prefer to stick with nvidia

Well if you prefer good clocks on core and memory over cuda cores, memory bandwidth and memory capacity and good COOLING then yea get a 770.

Jesus christ...

A 770 is basically a gtx 680 rebranded with higher clocks. If you're gonna get a 770, you might as well go for the cheaper 680 cards in sli.

680s and 770s where and ARE ridiculously over-priced mid-range cards. They're not impressive at all, get the 780 OP, GK104s arent worth anyones money at this point.

That 770 is only £270 now so a bit better of a deal. The other 780 is £370.

The 770 might be clocked higher but the 780 has more cores so will be quicker despite being clocked lower.

Both are good cards.

on the contrary. the 770 is a fantastic card, but only if you can get it for around £200. Any more than that, and you might as well go for a 780. I have a 770 and it runs everything I play at >60fps (DayZ, Battlefield 4, Arma 3, Titanfall)

No really, its a piece of ****.

The 290 really would be the answer to your problems here. It's priced inbetween the 770 and 780 but has the same performance as a 780. However, if you really can't get to grips with that, I'd personally get a 780.

You have not met Crysis 3 yet then.:D

OP get a GTX 780 and enjoy.
