EVGA RMA - Impressed

So if they can't replicate the fault they just send the card out to another customer? Sounds abit naff to me. The card you have received might not be new then, it may be a repaired card or a returned card.

And your problem with that, if true, is what.

When you RMA a card and they send you a used card which you know was damaged or faulty then repaired you should be upset?

Because that's exactly what you'd get back if you waited for them to examine and fix your card.

Being sent a working card before they even touch the returned card reduces downtime for the customer.

The second two scenarios are fine, I think the issue is if they replicate the issue they put it in stock. Might mean you can replicate it when you get sent that card as an rma replacement. Small chance granted but you might get a faulty card back from them.

I now take detailed photos of anything I RMA.

Always a good idea, I take photo's of everything I sell secondhand as well, including the items box, I keep all the original boxes & their contents for when I sell something on so the buyer get's the whole thing in very good condition, Then I finish off with photo's of it packed for posting before sending it via recorded/special delivery.

I also am impressed with the feedback and positive experiences with EVGA as expressed on the forum. Future graphics cards will definitely be on the cards from Evga

I should have noted in my last comment... that experience was a good ~8 years ago and I've heard many positive things about them since.

I now tend to exclusively buy their GPUs...

I wish EVGA would also make amd cards, after reading asus and other company rma horror stories, I'd like my next card to be an evga card but want the choice between green and red :)

I'm hoping the evga 980ti's will go down in price soon, so I can get one of them. Just can't bring myself to spend over £300 on an eol card

Having just bought my 4th (fourth, #4, FOURTH!) EVGA Gfx card I can also commend their customer service. Had a minor issue this time in which the serial number wasn't getting recognised on-line but 5 mins later after a quick call to their helpdesk it was all sorted and they completed the registration for me. Super easy, super quick. :)

I had that exact same issue with the 1060 SC I bought last week. They sorted it within a couple of emails though and registered it manually.

I remember sending a BFG card back. It took like 4 days from sending back to receiving new card & the postman apologised it was late as it had somehow managed to be left in post office few days. Which means the turn around would have been 48 hours from sending to receiving. Incredile customer service. Pity BFG has disappeared/went bust.

Only thing that could possibly improve is that you have to pay postage, both ways, for the step up programme. Paying £40 is quite a lot. But hey, it's a minor complaint in the scheme of things.

Galax/KFA2 now uses their factory in the UK :)

My experience of eVGA was slightly less than stellar.

My GTX 780 packed up on me. Turns out you have to send to Germany for a replacement, which from Ireland is not cheap in the slightest. Fair enough though, I can understand this.

My card was eventually turned around, and I was given the shipping number. By chance I managed to check the serial number of a replacement which was given in the email and it was a substantially inferior card. I contacted straight away and was told that I had returned such a card and that I was getting such a card back. Very rude.

Thankfully........I had kept the original box, and was eventually able to prove to them that the card I had returned was indeed a GTX 780...Not sure what I would have done otherwise...

But the next problem was they wouldn't send another card til the other one had been rejected in delivery. It was being delivered to one of the top investment banks, it wasn't going to be stolen..(cue jokes here). I offered to pay the difference as my main pc was down without this card. There were issues with this.

Eventually after several weeks I received my new card. Pretty disappointed to be honest, as I thought initially (I even left positive feedback!) it was going to a straightforward process.

Will make me question them for future purchases to be honest.

inferior card in what way?

Christian B 06:21:54 pm

That was not the part number and serial number you had sent in.

They received the card on the 18th, and the replacement was eventually sent out of their depot on the 30th.

Well, isn't that sort of common for high-end PSUs? So I guess most likely it's simply not too hard to make a reliable PSU?

I recently got this Seasonic Prime which also comes with a 10 year warranty. When looking to buy, I found that most serious products had 7 years.

Well that seasonic prime is 169.99 for a 650w PSU with 10 yr warranty, the EVGA G2 is 750w PSU for about 85 I think when I got it, but yes I am sure that seasonic is good, I have not read about it, but its a lot for a 650w PSU.

My G2 1300w has started making coil whine, since I have gone SLI 1080s?

You know there was a recall on those? Check the SN and look on their site, mine went bang, had a nightmare sorting it out...they kept sending me replacements without cables, the problem was the original one took the cables out with it meaning every time I plugged a new one in it blew that too. Took four before I screamed at the complaints dept to sort out some cables, never got the goody bag I was promised either as an apology.
