Click on Vehicle Enquiry

Much like the AA and RAC sites, it will tell you the model and year of the car that you enter, but with the added bonus of telling you if the vehicle is currently taxed.

I checked a couple of my old cars and bikes on there. Only a few were still in use by the looks of things.

My rx8, 540i, hayabusa, and raptor were all still in use and, surprisingly my old 1985 Suzuki GS550E.

Just tried it on my old 106XSi, reg N681TOA. Bought it new 11 years ago and it's still out there somewhere. I still miss it

It hasnt moved for a couple of months now and has a few big dints, I hate driving past, I feel so sad and guilty lol

After having a brief nostalgia trip I just wondered why no one has started a "Cars Reunited" type website where people could register their cars and be contacted by previous owners.

I'm sure some current owners would be interested to hear about the vehicles earlier years and some earlier owners would be delighted to hear how their old banger is doing.

i take it that means that nobody currently owns it then ?

not supprised really, the dealer gave me book price, but that was 2250 for a 7 year old polo with manual windows, no power steering, a tape player, and not even so much as a sunroof.

nobody is gonna pay 2 grand for a car like that.

would have though somebody would have bought it at a knock down price at auction or something though. unless being VW it was bought and broken for spares ?

Just checked the status of my Astra which was written off in Jan and it's registered as scrapped - "Status: Unlicensed" according to the site

For mine which was written off in Jan (and registered as scrapped) it finds it and states "Status: Unlicensed"
