Excuses for going out dressed as a pirate?

Woke up this morning with a nasty surprise. Had all this gunk in my left eye and it was all red. Turns out I have conjunctivitis (aka pink-eye). So I invested in some eye drops from boots and an eye-patch from the local costume shop. I was really looking forward to going out tonight but I can't go with a disgusting sticky, red eye exposed. Hence I need an excuse to go out to a club dressed as a pirate :D Any suggestions?
 
Isn't pink-eye contagious? Shouldn't you remain in your home?

If not, your earlier meeting with Keira Knightley should be a good excuse. ;)

Alternatively you could actually become a pirate! Then dressing up like a pirate would be perfectly acceptable as they're your work clothes.
 
Because you feel like being a total randomer for a day.

I've seen people going out in all sorts of crap for no good reason other than to stand out. Not so long ago I saw a bloke out in nothing but a wetsuit and he was a mean dancer.
