Not getting much useful information from the park & ride website or Google for what I want to do.

I'm trying to find out if any buses run from Exeter city centre to the Honiton Road Park and Ride stop on J29 of the M5 (or nearby) after the last official park and ride bus in the evenings (6.30pm). Going to be working late in Exeter - finishing around 9pm on some nights, and am trying to avoid using the extortionate car parks in the city itself. I don't even know if the park & ride car park is open after 7pm or locked?

Anyone here commute to Exeter? Got any tips for where to leave my car during the afternoon into evening?

I never use the park and ride and sadly the carpark i would recommend closes at 7pm so not any use to you....your options are very limited at that time of night.

park in a residential area then take the local train into the city centre. For example, Digby & Sowton area. (that station has a free car park but its probably better to just park down one of the nearby roads)
Ooh, that's a cheap option, I think I'll try that. Why wouldn't you use the cark park though?

Becomes a target for theft. Most of the residential areas in exeter are permit holder restricted, not sure how much that happens around the sowton area though.

It's only really the central residential areas - center, pinhoe, heavitree, st thomas etc that have permits, out towards sowton will be ok - although sounds like a right PITA to save £2!

It'll be more than that - more like saving £5 a day, up to 5 times a week. Also saves me having to drive through central Exeter with all its traffic lights. I'm penny pinching at the moment as I have debts to clear and am relocating to the US soon which is going to be expensive!

Thanks for the tips guys. :)

I use the carpark along from the college by the clock tower behind BT, £6 a day - thankfully i'm only in exeter one day and week and the rest is at my office :)

Rugby days are permit only around there. Should be okay weekdays, but some weeknights and saturdays there's virtually nowhere you can park around that area.

Train is going to be the best public transport for you at those hours, the p+r doesn't run any buses after those hours to my knowledge (although I get the sowton side p+r).
