Expanding my GPU options - Nvidia and Freesync?

Hi,

I have a Freesync screen and want a new GPU, seeing as though AMD have failed to release a product with decent availability at a respectable price even more so than Nvidia I want to increase my options of upgrading and getting out of this incredibly frustrating game of beat the scalpers

I currently have a Vega 56 and looking for a decent upgrade to push higher FPS at 1440P with High settings (Not bothered about Ultra I can never tell the difference between high and ultra)

Does Freesync work with Nvidia GPUs now, if so does it work well or am I better sticking with AMD?

Considering my current GPU will a 3060ti be a decent upgrade for what I want? It seems the 6700XT from the rumours looks like its not going to be any better but more expensive and I reckon the 3060ti will be in better supply soon than any other GPU so potentially easier to get one

Also when trying to get an FE card as I do love the look of them, whats the best way to get one quickly, any tips without mentioning competitors?

Thanks

A lot of adaptive sync monitors which work with FreeSync will now work with G-Sync compatible - but there is a more limited number of models that are certified to work.

FE cards are only available via the nVidia web-site though they now process and ship them through one of the competitors - they usually drop between 2pm and 4pm though you can use a variant of bots/Discord approaches to get notifications of when drops happen. It is a good idea to have a logged in account with payment details, etc. ready to go on the competitor so as to get a good chance of completing the check out while stock is still there.

EDIT: Not sure when the next drop of any size is though it has gone a bit quiet on that front.

Thanks, is there a list of Gsync compatible Freesync monitors do you know? Mine is the Dell S2719DGF - Its a deal breaker for me if it wont work and I'll have to stick with AMD

I thought the FE cards were only available direct so I'll have a poke around and try and find the other place

It isn't on that list but a couple of reviewers have had the S2719DGF working without issues - you do need Windows 10 though and a recent GPU for it to work.

Yeah I remember something about it still might work even if it's not on the official list

I intend to change the monitor next year which may or may not happen with the way things are going so I'll have a look around and see who got it working and how Thanks

using the same monitor with my 3070 and freesync works perfectly :)

Will do thanks, what did you get and what resolution, FPS and settings do you game at and does the card perform as well as you hoped at those settings?

3070 fe it's a cracking card am really happy with it. i play at 1440p. obviously the less challenging games am getting up to the 144 and the more challenging i just use a youtube guide to get as high as i can at ultra/high and yeah pretty pleased with it i mean its basically a 2080ti for £470.

Sound good thanks, 3070 would be the sweet spot but I'll go up to a 3080 or down to a 3060ti at this point!
