Experience with Elephant or Admiral insurance?

Not had a claim with admiral but do currently have a few modifications on the car (mostly exterior, no engine work yet) and it barely touched the annual cost. Unfortunately ive also asked about engine modifications and its definitely not their area of expertise but once you start playing in there you have to expect to go to a specialist insurer really.

As with all but one comments so far, their customer services cant be faulted in my experience and the general price of insurance is pretty good for me.

I've not had a claim through them, but they have been informed of 2 claims I made against other people, and even though they were both down as information only with absolutely no involvement from them at all, they still bumped my premium because of them.

All insurance companies raise your premium if you've had a non-fault claim.

Been with Elephant and Admiral for 3years, by far the cheapest for me and they were pretty good after I had my big accident, relatively quick and their 1st payout offer was much higher than I expected. Renewel since the accident wasn't too expensive and Multicar works out very cheap compared to two seperate policies for me.

With regards to mods my Civic was covered for uprated brakes, suspension, audio and alloys... they however wont cover me to install a rollcage in my BMW 328 which is a shame, as I need one.

Im with elephant, had a no fault claim the day my insurance started, had no problems what so ever with them, didnt even make me pay my excess.

The Mrs is with Admiral, not had to use them but always very polite on the phone, only thing is they use national windscreens instead of autoglass, and they seem a bit like a bunch of cowboys.

Overall Id recommend them though.

National Windscreens damaged the front end of my car.

And then had to foot the bill for BMW to respray the entire front end :D

Been with Elephant past 2 years, no hassle with them. Even chopped off £25 off my quote when I asked if there was anything they could do to help me out. If you don't ask you don't get :P

Admiral Group are back to using Autoglass again now - their windscreen number went straight through to Autoglass when I had a cracked screen a couple of months ago.

I've used Admiral and Bell on and off over the past few years. Never had any problems and this year they were at least £200 cheaper than anyone else bar First Direct who are currently guaranteeing to beat renewal quotes by 10%. One call and they beat them.

I did have a fairly poor experience with Albany Assistance who Admiral refer to as their "Legal Team" for a non-fault claim. They are simply a claims administration company and were hopeless in disputing liability. I did eventually recover my repair costs (plus interest) when I finally persuaded them to pass my case to their "solicitors" (which appeared to be another claims management company, but one that did actually take people to court) but it took nearly 2 years and I had to keep on at them. I'd just go somewhere else if I had a non-fault accident.

I've been with the Admiral group for two years, with Bell previously and currently with Admiral on a multi-car policy. Never had to claim but the customer services department have always been helpful.

I've been with Elephant for 5 years I think (ever since I've had my own policy)

Haven't had to make a claim, but they've always been the cheapest for me with both cars. I call up each time for renewal with lower quotes from themselves or Admiral and they match it.

Customer services are always UK based and always know what they're talking about

We had both modified cars insured on an Admiral Multicar for two years and previously on my own policy for 2 years (You should know the cars well Hate :p ). We found they were very good on mods pricewise and the last year we renewed we paid a few extra quid to have the mods replaced should anything occur. They were very easy to deal with and when I had to make a claim (not my fault) everything went through very quickly and smoothly.

Anyone I have ever spoken to at Admiral has been Welsh. I believe they are Cardiff based but might be wrong. The guys from Albany were English so no language barrier issues in my experience.

Been with Admiral for about 6 years now, and thay have always been the cheapest at renewal time (If you ignore the first renewal price you get). Saved about £400 this renewal on an sti with ppp fitted, as none of the so called specialists could get close. Fully expect them to be cheapest this year as well.

Have used both several times and never had any issues, although never made a claim through Admiral. Did make a claim through Elephant (with someone also claiming against me for the same incident) and they were excellent, very helpful, no fuss and went far beyond the call of duty, although I cant explain exactly why on here :). Would happily recommend both. Currently with Admiral.

I have had a good experience with Admiral, wife was hit by a driver with admiral, the claim was so easy no hassle and sorted very quick, so good infact have just taken out a policy for the wife's MR2 with them.

I was with Elephant for 5 years, made 1 claim, sorted straight away.

Then switched to Admiral and some bint reversed in to me at traffic lights, caught it on CCTV. Took ages to get sorted and ended up a 50/50 claim despite lots of arguing from my end :(

Took out a policy with Admiral in January as they were a lot cheaper than other companies.

THe guy was really helpful and polite. During the call I had discounts added here and there making the quote cheaper. They also do most stuff online so less calling them up. It was a welcome change to Churchill who had be shafting me previously.
