Extend Wireless Network

Hello,

I have a draytek router which comes with a built in wireless access point. The problem is i'm unable to keep a signal all the way around the house... is there any way which will allow me to extend the "reach" of my wireless network?

there are 2 antenna ports on the back of the router... do i simply need to buy antennas with a higher gain (if it works the same as tellie aerials)?

bought a couple of 9dB gain aerials for my router... i'll report back if it solves the problem in an attempt to help other users.
