Extension Cable?

Hey guys. I'm a second year student at uni, and in September I'm moving into a student house, as opposed to halls. We're supplied with a broadband connection and yesterday I popped down there and found that the broadband cable (which is attached to a router somewhere in a locked cupboard) is unable to reach my desk. I can't really move the desk, as it would be next to a sink, which I don't want for obvious reasons, so is there some sort of extension cable that I can plug into the broadband cable, which in turn will plug into my computer?

Thanks in advance.

I would, but I haven't got access to the router, and the cable already runs from the bottom floor, up to the third floor. So unless the landlord wants attach a load more cables (which I'm waiting for him to get in contact with me about) then I'll need some sort of extension cable, if these even exist. I don't really wanna buy another router due to lack of funds (besides, would using another router work?) so I was hoping there was some sort of extension cable? If not, and he won't extend the wiring, then I guess I'll have to cough up for a router.

buy cable + coupler
