Hi All,

I have a few old 3.5inch drives and two of them are 1TB WD Greens. They are both almost 10 years old with production dates of 2008 and 2009, so I know that no one will want to purchase them due to age, so I am looking to use them myself.

I have been looking at Orico Hotswap bays, the ones with two bays in them. I was thinking that for the £30ish price tag I could just stick them in there and use them like that. Have backup data on them and when one or both fails in the future just replace them then with bigger ones.

Have anyone used the Orico bays docks before? We use similar at work for cloning, but they are different and more expensive versions.

Thoughts?

I've got a super cheap CIT dock (just single though), but it works fine with both 3.5 and 2.5 drives. Sometimes have to slot the drive in again if it fails to recognise it, but I've never found it to have problems when in use.
