External HDD to LCD for BluRay rips?

To clarify, I was thinking of an external HDD with HDMI (+optical, coax etc), ethernet, USB outputs etc that also has a built in mediaplayer that could play BluRay rips on my LCD TV? (1080p with DD or DTS)

Is this sort of thing available?

If it is I would also like to know. But while you are waiting for an answer form someone more in the know may i just throw in my 2p and suggest maybe an external HD connected to a ION NetTop?
