I am working Christmas Eve and day (nights). So I stay up Christmas Eve (Looking out for Santa :D) then get home. Open presents with kids and Wife enjoy Christmas dinner then instead of going to see the inlaws I get to sleep for a few hours before I go to work. :p

And to make it better I get paid double for my trouble which helps pay for Christmas.

So I get all the good bits, no inlaws, no tidying up after dinner, no over excited kids that turn out moody later, double pay and I can "rest my eyes" at work. :D
 
I used to love night shifts :eek: Had them on random days while going to school (this is where not being able to sleep comes in hand!) for three years. It's just something weird about being the only person in a huge office building.

I always just brought some series to watch and music to make time pass. Installed a few mini games, also brought my laptop to play proper games on. Got myself something nice to eat etc.

Like mentioned thought it does get to you after a while. After three years I was more than ready to switch over to working days.. Wasn't fun to always have to turn down birthdays and other events because of work. Makes you seem like the most boring person there is :p
 
Fap/pee/poop on or in various things belonging to the person who made you work those days?

Not a **** in their desk style thing, but rub various parts of yourself on their coffee cup etc :p
 
My job is shifts, and all solo.

I work with two other people, and our shifts are either 8am - 4 pm or 3pm - 11pm
the place where i work only closes for one day a year and thts Xmas day.

We have the luxury of making our own rota on a weekly basis, but i know come december its gonna be difficult cos we'll all want NYE, NYD, Boxing day, and xmas eve off.

I do know one thing though, i'm not working NYE for sure, i worked the last two & this years its my dads 50th birthday.
 
Tell me about it.

At first I was enjoying the lighter work load and 4 days off afterwards but my sleeping pattern ends up so messed up I spend a lot of time tired or asleep.

And lack of weekends and I am missing NYE. :(
 
Are all you 'boredom struck people' simply taking position within the building to deal with emergencies etc or is there not something you could actually be getting on with?

Getting paid to 'play wow/watch tv/read books/dvds' etc seems like you have it rather cushty at the expense of a few desirable days you cannot take leave... :confused:
 
You're working nights on Christmas day? Asin Christmas eve through Christmas day morning? Or Christmas night through boxing day?

Surely you can adjust some how to have christmas dinner with someone!
