Well I finally bought it.....

Intel Core 2 DUO E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Western Digital Raptor 74GB WD740ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache
2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache
Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI
Tagan TG580-U15 580W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU
NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver
Antec P180 Advanced Super Midi Tower Case - No PSU (Black)

All I can say is WOW!!!

I am loving it, everything runs perfectly (I would hope so as well :p ) The cpu has been running between 26-32 depending on my room temperature and doesnt run much higher under load

I want to start overclocking now, this will probably be the first time I have tried it so has anyone got some pearls of wisdom?

I would like to say thanks to everyone that helped spec me a rig earlier this month as well :)

i would say read around a lot first, if you don't know what your doing it can be messy if it goes wrong, theres a lot of technology in chips now a days to actually save the chip it self such as throttling etc, save yourself the hassle and read up a lot then when you feel comfortable and ready to go do it the last thing you want to do is fry that precious conroe ;).

Nice rig there mate..... I'm just waiting for a better DFI mobo to come out in the next few months then I'll climb on board the Conroe train.......

My question is : How have you found the noise of the Raptor ?

I am tempted to get this setup

Raptor for Windows / Games
2 x Seagate 7200.10 320Gig in Raid0 for Music / Video etc
1 x WD 500Gig for backup

But was just wondering about the noise of the Rapor ??

Also, have you got your Seagates Raided ?

I will get some posted up soon :) I need to charge the camera as it seems to be completely dead :o

At the moment I have only played Lost Coast and BF2. I have been very busy at work since I built it so I have not had chance to really try anything else. Anyone got any suggestions to a new game that will push the hardware with some decent graphics  I have been playing on my XB360 recently so a bit out of touch with the PC side :(

To be honest I can't hear the Raptor - the p180 seems to do a good job of keeping things quiet :) I have not got the Seagates raided at the moment but I am planning on doing it in the near future.....

I don't see a mention of a CPU cooler in your post - might want to consider a 3rd party cooler before overclocking if you allready haven't got one.

Zalman 9500 AT
Scythe Ninja/Mine seem the way to go.

Ah yes, I did buy a Scythe Ninja with this but I have had to sell it. I couldn't get the backplate to fit...........

The image below sort of shows why (its to do with the cooling system on the DQ6). I didn't want to force it as I didn't want to break anything at the moment :p

At the moment I am just using the stock hsf but I am looking for a new one that will work with the board....

I've got my eye on that monitor to replace my Iiyama CRT, what's your verdict?

Its a great monitor, the picture quality is amazing and is crystal clear.......

My only gripe with it is that the monitor itself is a bit "chunky". However I wouldn't change it as its perfect for me :) And no ghosting!!! ;)

I will post some pics up when I get back from work just so you can see what I mean.
