3rd rock...
Hey guys hows it goin

So...Im really enjoying my 3-screen Eyefinity setup powered by a Powercolor HD5850. I got a question though and this is probably like wishing for the moon but here goes...

I got Eyefinity mainly to play FSX on and for that its brilliant. Its also awesome on games like Stalker SOC, Fallout 3 etc.

But this 3-screen stuff aint my cup of tea when Im just using Windows - browsing the net, typing docs, watching YouTube etc. For stuff like this I prefer to use one screen and a max of two perhaps keeping the third turned off.

Right now to do all this I have to go through the Catalyst app enaling/disabling groups blah blah blah its so clunky.

So I keep 3-screen Eyefinity mode on permanently. The HydraGrid is very handy cuz it lets me use just the center screen for Opera and other apps like my Open Office stuff. However even with the outer two screens physically turned off Eyefinity mode is of course still active.

So the Start menu is on the left screen (which is turned off)...little annoyances like that.

Is there a program out there that can sit in the background and:

1. Monitor which displays are turned on
2. Depending on this it adjusts Eyefinity accordingly

So you turn on your PC and only turn on the center screen - Eyefinity wont be enabled.

As soon as you turn on the far right screen 2-screen Eyefintiy is enabled...and if u finally hit the power button for the left screen full triple-screen Eyefinity is activated.

Or am I missing something stupidly obvious in Catalyst

This does work as standard with cat drivers already. I can turn the left and right displays off and the centre monitor changes the desktop to 1920x1080.

Oh cool I need to check this out. When you do this (turning only center monitor) does it auto-adjust the taskbar so your Start menu & system tray are all on the center screen? Thanks for the reply, off to have a fiddle with Catalyst :)
