Recently, I picked up two relatively cheap Hanns G HW173a 17" widescreen TFT monitor's. Since I have two, I thought I'd get another one to make three, so I did.
I would like to use all three in an eyefinity configuration with my HP Envy 17 laptop with 5850m mobility graphics card. My HP Envy 17 has a VGA, HDMI and Mini Displayport outputs.
My question is, which cables would I require? The HW173a (monitors) use VGA input.
Looking at the HP website information regarding eyefinity setup on this laptop; https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc...veCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=4226693
I see this stated;
"DisplayPort: If one of the monitors does not have a DisplayPort and you are using a resolution over 1280x1024, an active (powered) adapter will be required.
A list of ATI Validated Adapters can be found here: EyeFinity Dongles ."
Does this mean I will need something different than a standard mini displayport to VGA, connected to a vga to vga?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
