Think this is the place to ask....

Need a new Vacuum cleaner, the old Philips is 14 years old and due for retirement. Probabl going to get a Dyson, anyone got any idea which is best? We have carpet in all rooms but the kitchen has a Tiles floor.

Not really, when you think about it.

You're just going to get suggestions about high fiving the carpet or using some sort of mustard hoover that punches women in the ovaries.

People seem to praise Dyson high and low. But I honestly think they're an expensive jigsaw of flimsy plastic.

get a Sebo.

they're not light, but suck fantastic.
they are so well designed too and come apart real easy if you need to unblock etc.
and they're not made of lego like them silly dysons :)

The wife swears by them. Had the first one when it came out many years ago. Just about to get the third one. Very reliable, do what they say, excellent service from them if you get any issues. (They come to you)

Thanks for changing the Title :D LOL

Anyone know which model of the dyson is best? Any differences between the upright and "Down" versions.

I'd avoid the Dyson. The stair tool falls to bits in my hands, I've gone through about 4 in the last 2 years. It's possible I'm just too damn manly for vacuuming though. Dysons are awkward to use and don't suck half as much as you'd think. Get one of those Henry ones.

Don't know which is 'best' but we have a DC01 overclocked to like DC05 speeds :) Can multihoover without a problem and starts up in no time at all. Stable as a rock even before I spent three times the original price of the hoover on a water cooling kit to get a 5% increase in suction :D

Had to expect this on on a website called overclockers ;)

A dyson works perfectly as long as its well kept after.

People should not disrigard Dysons, a lot of effort and design was put into them, and it comes out as a very good product fit for its purpose.

Dyson!

My parents have the DC01 they got that when it first came out nad its still going strong. I got the new all floors one and its amazaing it takes so much dirt of of the carpet its untrue, you can get one with filters for all cat hair and allergies too.

The dyson works so well i use it to clean my chainsaws i can suck out all the woodchippings from behind the clutch without having to remove it.

What model have you got?

DC07, very powerful and very strong.

Downside, tad expensive.

I wash mine regually, the whole device can be washed in the bath (ensure everything is dry afterwards!!)

Our Dyson broke after couple of months and there was loads of trouble with Dyson getting a new part - never again.

The amount of Dyson's I see at the tip is unreal.

yeah, why is that when they are so quick to keep yours working??
Never worked that out.

/slaps himself..

Yes I have. We will be sending ours there. The local charity shop don't want electrical goods, so off to the tip when we get the 56 plate model

Try sebo they have fancy features to reduce carpet wear and loads of suction. They are commercial vacuums so built to last.

I don't understand why everyone buys bagless its just a gimmick. It looks like its collecting so much dust when its just spinning round in a tube and then when you empty it all the fine dust escapes
