F1 2010 33% off Steam weekend deal £20.09

Wanna buy.. Will this game run at a solid 60fps (vsync on) for me? I know console ver is only 30fps, which is a deal breaker for me on driving games. Otherwise I'd of had it by now at full price.

Anyway spec is

Q6600
5770 x2 xfire
4gig ram

How big is the download?

I might get this in but am staying at my old mans tomorrow night and his speeds are a lot quicker than my poxy 300Kbps speed. Might dl onto an external hd at his.

It runs fine for me at 1900x1200 on a slightly OC'd 260GTX so I'd imagine so. I know people were having problems with low GPU usage but I think that's sorted now.

fine for you may not be fine for others. Some people are completely satisfied with 30fps on a game.. For driving i really expect 60fps or i'll be wasting my hard earned yayhoo.

I'd buy it if it worked with the 360 wheel but apparently that wheel has no drivers for the force feedback to work so I'll wait till a cheap deal appears on 360 version I think.

Force feedback does work with the 360 wheel unless i'm going completely mental. Now that you've mentioned it i'm not so sure!

The wheel works but not force feedback. Microsoft have been saying for months (think over a year actually) that they will bring out drivers but never have. A quick google brings up no end of other forum posts on it.

:mad::mad::mad:

Bought this game based upon replies to my question on performance and well what can i say..

Runs like a piece of crap even after patching.. Just wasted $26 on this junk.. DO NOT BUY it feels like a CHEAP AND NASTY console port to me..

Spec is not that bad, yet the best this game can muster & 1920 x 1200 x4AA with a few things on high is 30fps.. Even when i turn the res back down to the 90's and lower the settings to low & off, the best it can muster is 40fps.. So how someone can say it can it get to 60fps is beyond me. Always sign of a port when that happens.

Just disappointed i bothered to spend half my Friday eve downloading this, for it to run at this poor frame rate. No excuse.. Console port. This is the kind of crap that is killing PC gaming and will eventually kill the entire PC upgrade community. If i wanted a game that can only handle 30fps i could have bought it on my flippin 360 or PS3 and sold it on afterwards.. But nope stuck with my $26 license key now.

I know there's probably a good enough game behind the naff gfx engine, but i'm never going to give it a chance. Driving games are all about the eye candy to me.. More fool me for relying on a reply from here.

It could be an issue with your set up. The vast majority of people have flawless performance including me. Rather than throwing a tantrum and blaming the game which seems a bit simplistic why not post your system specs.

If he'd have devoted his energy into a 10 second google session instead of throwing his toys out of the pram he'd have found the codemasters f1 2010 forum and read through the post-patch thread which shows that while some are seeing a 20fps increase, others are seeing a marked decrease in performance.

Now, back to the racing, thanks for the heads up semiskimmed. :)

Great game, worth getting if you like racing games :)

I think some performance issues were to do with people with old hard disks, as the replays were using the disk a lot or something.

Well that's just peachy...and to think I "acquired" this game thru other means *ahem* This would have the perfect opportunity to buy the game proper. But why can't I buy it? NO MONEY!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Never mind. I'll just wait til the price drops elsewhere and buy it at a later date. But hell, what a damn good game this is :D
