FA CUP 3rd round and other football (**Spoilers**)

There is no please about it. According to the radio the ref blew full time just after the second goal went in.

It's not the first time this kind of thing has happened.

Anyway, as i said the replay would have been a disaster for us so it doesn't really matter - just highlights a point.

They played 95 minutes in the end, though I suppose you'd rather they played 94 and give you less time to equalise?

4 minutes was too long. but it was scored in the first, if the duration of the time added effected villa that much, they deserved to lose :)
and watching chelsea recently, they are the ones who always seem to play into the 95th minute onwards

edit: although to be fair, with the amount of fouling they do i guess it makes sense

That's not what the local radio said - they may have too outraged at the 4 minuites *and* the goal to notice but the definate inferance was that they might just as well have played until man u scored.

2 subs plus 2 goals normally equals 2 mins added time.

how about you ignore the local radio and listen to who actually watched it

There was about 4/5 subs not just 2. Plus then the usual stopages
I agree 4 minutes was a lot i thought it'd be about 3. But it still didnt make a difference on account of the goal was scored about 40 seconds into the half.

Plus i bet the radio didnt mention about an extra minute was played while Villa were pushing on now rather than him blowing up after 4 did it :p

Very impressed by Almunia yesterday, really dominated his box and everything stuck.

Today I thought Cahill was MOTM in the Villa game, very assured performance and surely must be a contender for the U21 side.

almunia was very assured thats for sure - he looks so different too in appearance.

villa two cbs looked great - villa must be commended for their treatment of young english talents.

osbourne looked like a prospect - although his passing was poor. bouma was immense - made three outstanding tackles.

i did feel that villa were either too easily penalised for little fouls or man utd weren't treated harsh enough - a real inbanace in decisions.

amused me when samuel got the ball sliding in behind ronaldo and then ronaldo just barged him over when running past him with the ball!

Was quite suprised by Bouma as I've seen him have some SHOCKERS (100x worse than Boumsong) in the past before he joined Villa. Really was an accident waiting to happen when he was CB for Holland/PSV, maybe LB suits him better.

4 mins what a joke, typical united, they get everything.
In the pub just before injury time i said "watch it be 4 minutes, just ebcause it's united", sure enough, 4 magical minutes appear, when there should have been 3 at the absolute most. We were so unlucky, yes, united had more possession and more shots, but we defended well and (for once) weren't afraid to attack. We deserved a draw, that's a little harsh on us.

So, anyone want to hazard a guess at which league one/two side united will get at home next?

Does it really matter? If anything the 4 minutes were good for Villa, United scored 1 minute into injury time, which was gonna happen regardless. If it had been less, they wouldnt have any chance at all of making it back.

Went to the Forest - Charlton game, another complete embarassment, Pardew's honeymoon period is well and truely over. Was easily one of the most pathetic performances ive seen over the last 15 years, and believe me ive seen a lot. This quote sums it up really:

BBC Sport said:
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt said it was tougher playing Accrington Stanley than it was taking on Premiership Charlton in the FA Cup on Saturday. (Various)

If it had been 3 minutes or even 2 minutes, infact, seeing as we scored 40 seconds into injury time, even if they put 1 minute up, you would have still lost

So drop it

I accept that, but I just knew it would be 4 minutes. I didnt say "oh, we lost because of the extra minute or two", I'm simply stating that it was obvious there would be more time added on than there should have been. So you drop it.
