Falmouth

I've only visited but thought it was very nice, somewhat quiet perhaps but you'd have to expect that considering how small it is. Some lovely countryside round there, good diving and sailing potential if that appeals. What sort of information are you looking for about it?

Ye, i live smack bang in Falmouth lol.

Why?

My thing says Devon but there is where home is, i go to University in Falmouth though, so...

Oh and ye, it is a nice town, very studenty, arty, chilled out. If you love the sea, or skating then come here! If you like going to Gylys and lazing on the beach all day do it!

Some really nice pubs, places to eat, and it is very friendly. Have not had ANY trouble since i came down here 2 years ago. Chavs are virtually 0%, and everyone is pretty community orientated. Id recommend it for anyone who is up for chilling and getting out of the city. It isn't THAT dead down here either, lots of nights on and things, and projects to do.

I do a course called Broadcasting. Basically I sit in a recording studio all day recording bands, or filming scenes for films and things. Applied with a lot of theory.

I am working for the Radio down here now though.

But ye, if your into your art/design/media...basically it is a must to come here. I love it.

Ill probably be staying down that way for a while...Falmouth of Truro..Not sure yet.

How is the internet situation down there? :o
Gyms? Lots of them?

Ye internet is ok, we are on 8mb and it is fine, dunno if you can get faster, maybe in truro.

Falmouth has lots, the uni has a really good one that can be used by the public whenever. Membership is ok too. Lots in town aswell, mainly smaller ones but still.

How bout restaurants and stuff? It doesnt seem like a very racially diverse area, so whats available re foreign food?

I can confirm that they do have internet down there, contrary to popular belief they have also discovered fire and occasionally washing - the sleeping with your sister thing has been harder to eradicate unfortunately. :p

I was possibly being a little bit unfair when I described it as a bit quiet but there is quite a major difference living in a city with >100,000 people to one with about 20,000. I'm not too sure about the gym situation but since there is a university there then that should be one there at least.

Ye restaurants are good. Some really nice ones accross the bay aswell, you can get a boat every 30 mins.

Mainly local fish and things, there are some indian/thai restaurants too.

No, admitidly, the locals are not very ethnically aware. But there is a growing population of multi ethnicitity, also a lot at the university.

Ye, you have to be ready that it is quiete, but there are LOTS of things on, which are a lot different from most places anywhere in the country. Lots of well known bands come down and play, not even just at the uni, lots in town too. Real Big Fish were here the other night in town etc.

If you find things that interest you, it is a good place to live. Like i Longboard, something which is VERY popular here. All my house do, and we do huge skates nightly. Or there is surfing or sailing. Lots and lots to do.

Best thing is the no hastle though...Never been started on, ive never seen any major trouble...it is really good when you want to go out.

Admitidly there are no MAJOR clubs, but there are 2 okish local clubs, but mainly lots and lots and lots of pubs...All a bit different with bands and dj's etc. Lots of student nights have Dubstep/DnB, which are at the rugby club which is a good little venue. Has Rusko there the other week too.

It is a VERY chilled out town, lots of skaters/stoners/surfers/hippys. But that is my crowd so!

So ye :D

everywhere in cornwall iv been to/through seems really quiet to me, iv only lived here a few weeks but as far as night life is concerned there isnt shedloads if thats what you are into.
All the locals seem to live for coastal walks..
Pointyheads galore.
I live next to Helston for the record, its a strange strange place.

aye, newquay/plym is the way to go for a decent night out. although its quite studenty, its still quite a dull place for us young'uns, as is much of cornwall.

but then we don't have muslims down here.

so swings and roundabouts. :p
