Im toying with what fans to get my next system, it'll be a megahalems fitted to a i7 920 with an armoursuit p50r case.

Im stumped as to what is best, i was thinking of getting a 3000rpm scythe ultra kaze and fan control the thing or three akasa apache fans and let pwm do it's job.

Any suggestions?

I would go with Akasa Apaches for the CPU using the mobos PWM control and use a fan controller for the chassis fans. If you use a fan controller that can vary the speed by temperature such as the Scythe Kaze Master Server then you can still get a good balance of noise versus cooling.

True or what about three kaze slipstreams run from the mcubed controller, that supports pwm and throw in some line attenuators to quiet it down further.

Hmm choices....

I considered the mCubed but heard about some driver issues (Win7 64bit) at the time I was building so gave it a miss, but it's on my list for the next round of upgrades as I really like the flexibility it gives.

Yeah same here for what i need it's a bit much tbh.

I've done a lot of reading it seems the megahalems really likes the 3000rpm scythe kaze or the fdb thermalright at around 2000rpm so i'll go with those and let speedfan do it's job instead, i'll wait for a better pwm fan to come along, i want to crack 4.0ghz and some hit 4.2ghz with those fans and as5.
