You can get kebabs over here in Canada. They are called gyros. I'm not sure if they are exactly the same as a kebab in the UK.

Yep they are called gyros or shwarma's, which when i was last in Canada i did have but its not as big as it is over here.

Americans call them gyros as well, having had one in Buffalo last yr when i went to do some shopping.

The sell both gyros and doner kebab in Germany and they are different - gyros are actual pieces of meat that are compressed togetther and put onto the skewer on the spit, nothing like the reconstituted elephant leg doners we have here.

Isnt that a Shish Kebab also..
